Penn State RB Nicholas Singleton has gained clearance to return from the foot injury that halted his predraft work during Senior Bowl week, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Singleton broke the fifth metatarsal (commonly known as a "Jones fracture") in his right foot during Senior Bowl practices but has already resumed running.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Singleton didn't get a chance to show his timed speed at the NFL Scouting Combine, which might hurt his draft position a bit. Singleton certainly flashed plenty of on-field speed, though, and shouldn't need such confirmation.
He's likely headed for a selection somewhere in the middle of the draft, but the question will be which round. The answer to that question could signal how excited his NFL team is about the physical ability vs. how wary that team might be of Singleton's college production.
The former five-star recruit watched classmate Kaytron Allen beat him in carries in all four of their shared college seasons, with that gap growing the past two years. Singleton led the Nittany Lion backfield in receiving, averaging 9.7 yards per catch for his career. His rushing efficiency, however, proved inconsistent.
That college inconsistency plus the foot injury could make Singleton a value pick this offseason, though, both in dynasty rookie drafts and best ball formats.
Our rookie-draft ADP has him in the first half of Round 2, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Singleton slide further once the drafts really get going.
Best ball ADP finds him late in Round 16 as RB59 in Underdog Fantasy drafts. That makes Singleton a strong value by our ADP Market Index.
