Antonio Williams Fills the Slot Need for the Washington Commanders
The Washington Commanders selected Clemson WR Antonio Williams in Round 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft. Williams entered the draft as one of the more polished slot prospects in the class (93% slot rate in 2025). A decorated South Carolina prep star, he broke out immediately at Clemson, leading the Tigers in catches (56) and yards (604) as a true freshman. Injuries derailed 2023 and shortened 2025. But when healthy in 2024, he delivered his biggest stat line (75-908-11). Williams wins with route craft, tempo changes, and fearlessness over the middle. He can also be a productive runner on jet sweeps and a plus option in the return game. But at 5’11, 187 pounds, he’s not built to dominate outside or win purely on size.

Draft Sharks Rookie Guide: “At minimum, Williams projects as a high-floor, medium-ceiling talent with slot value.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
The Commanders were desperately in need of reinforcements at WR. Williams could move into a slot role immediately and offer QB Jayden Daniels a bail out option on third downs.
His polish should allow him to get some early playing time. That could make Williams an intriguing late round redraft option, especially if the Commanders offense goes back to its 2024 efficiency.
Dynasty Impact
Williams may not offer a ton of athletic upside, but he could stick around as a contributor for a long term. Being paired with Daniels certainly doesn’t hurt Williams long term outlook.
He could be a solid shot to take in the second round of rookie drafts due to talent and situation. It would have been nice for Williams to get second round draft capital, but third round is enough that he can make an immediate and long term fantasy impact.
