The Baltimore Ravens selected SMU TE Matthew Hibner in Round 4 of the NFL Draft. Hibner started his career at Michigan, playing primarily special teams, before transferring to SMU. He achieved career highs going 31-436-4 for the Mustangs. Among the 27 TEs invited to the NFL Combine, Hibner ranked third in average depth of target (8.8) and 20th in 2025 yards per route run (1.37). He ranked 18th in 2025 market share of receptions (12.9%) and 12th in market share of receiving yards (18.3%).
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Hibner profiles as a No. 2 blocking TE behind Mark Andrews who could find space for the occasional red zone target. He will likely contribute on special teams as well for the Ravens.
That gives Hibner no redraft value unless Andrews gets hurt. Even then, he will compete with TE Durham Smythe for snaps.
Dynasty Impact
Hibner joins a large group of blocking first TEs selected from Rounds 2-4 in the NFL Draft so far. The Ravens certainly needed to add TE depth, but Hibner likely won’t offer fantasy upside as a rookie or in the future.
Hibner doesn't appear to be an Isaiah Likely replacement with the lack of production over his college career.
He should be ignored in rookie drafts unless more information comes out about him having a pass-catching role on the team.
