According to Mike Reiss of ESPN, Patriots WR Kayshon Boutte is currently not attending voluntary workouts with the Patriots, instead working out away from the facility. This could be an indication that trade rumors from SI’s Albert Breer about Boutte being available for a fifth- or sixth-round draft pick could be accurate. WR A.J. Brown is still expected to be traded from the Eagles to the Patriots after June 1st according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, which could push Boutte out with WRs Romeo Doubs, DeMario Douglas, Mack Hollins, Kyle Williams, and Efton Chism III completing the current WR room.
What They're Saying
Mike Reiss, ESPN: “Free agent signee Romeo Doubs highlighted Mack Hollins, DeMario "Pop" Douglas, Kyle Williams and Efton Chism III as receivers who have helped him acclimate to the Patriots' system through the first four weeks of the voluntary offseason program.
It caught the ear that Kayshon Boutte wasn't included as he has been working out away from the facility.”
Albert Breer, SI: “Patriots WR Kayshon Boutte, I think, could be had for a fifth- or sixth-round draft pick right now, if anyone has an interest in him.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Even before this, Boutte was barely rosterable in fantasy after finishing 2025 as WR52 in PPR points per game (8.9) with only two top-12 fantasy performances. That came despite leading Patriots WRs with 787 snaps and a 67.6% snap rate in his active games last year.
If leading this room in snaps only got Boutte to WR52, a smaller role wipes out most of his redraft value.
Even after Doubs signed, Boutte still looked like a top-three WR, but the likely Brown trade may have bumped him from that mix. If Hollins and Douglas stay healthy, he likely won't have a path to fantasy impact on this roster.
A trade to a WR-needy team could at least make Boutte draftable in deep redraft leagues this year if he can battle for a starting spot. But we likely won't see a trade until after June 1st when the Patriots secure Brown.
