Carson Beck will make his NFL preseason debut this Thursday night as the Cardinals' starting QB, per HC Mike LaFleur.
2026 Fantasy Impact: Low Floor, Narrow Path
Beck was the third QB drafted, but that says more about this weak rookie QB class than Beck himself.
Beck's path to viable fantasy production, both short- and long-term, is narrow. He'd need to beat out Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew this season or fend off a potential high-end rookie QB next year. Neither outcome looks likely.
Beck topped 1.0 rushing PPG just once in his college career. So even with opportunity, his fantasy floor and ceiling would both be lower than most and heavily dependent on his passing production. And that wasn’t even an area he excelled in, having never surpassed a 10.0 adjusted yards per attempt in a college season despite being surrounded by NFL-level weapons.
Thursday night is the first step in that climb to fantasy viability.
