Jordan Addison jammed his thumb and is expected to miss practice time, but it's “nothing to be concerned about,” per Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Minor Injury, Major Context
Addison, like Justin Jefferson, posted the lowest PPR points per game of his career last season. Despite earning 19.8% of the team’s targets, he failed to reach 10.0 PPR PPG. The main driver of that inefficiency was the QB play, or lack thereof.
J.J. McCarthy was inhibiting his weapons rather than supporting them. He ranked 28th among all QBs in passing points per game last season and 35th in adjusted yards per attempt.
Minnesota imported Kyler Murray to improve the offensive inefficiency, which should mean a bounce-back year for Jefferson and Addison.
So although the injury isn’t serious and shouldn’t sideline Addison for long, every day he can build rapport with Murray matters.
