Kenyon Sadiq Headshot

Jets HC Aaron Glenn told reporters Thursday morning that the team got "pretty good news" on rookie TE Kenyon Sadiq following this week's setback in his recovery from hernia surgery.

What They're Saying

Glenn: "I'm just crossing my fingers. I'm gonna say it's a couple of weeks still, but it's not anything that's gonna keep him out of the regular season."

2026 Fantasy Football Impact

Not missing regular-season time is obviously a good thing. But exactly how long Sadiq remains out will matter for his 2026 outlook.

Even "a couple of weeks" in early-to-mid August can be pretty impactful for a rookie trying to not only get acclimated to the pros but establish a role in a new offensive scheme. (OC Frank Reich arrived this offseason, as did QB Geno Smith.)

Even at full health, Sadiq would present an iffy bet for early-season production. This scenario makes him a high-risk redraft pick anywhere ahead of the late rounds of your draft.

Plan to leave Sadiq on the season-opening waiver wire in most common redraft formats.

Other Winners & Losers

TE Mason Taylor and WR Adonai Mitchell should get a little help on the target front if Sadiq's early-season role is limited. Still, it's tough to envision any Jet beyond Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson making sense for September redraft lineups.

Taylor remains a guy probably not worth selecting in redraft. Mitchell fits as a late-round sleeper type.
