Isiah Pacheco Headshot

Lions RB Isiah Pacheco will miss time with an MCL sprain but is expected back for the start of the season, HC Dan Campbell said Monday. Pacheco is the favorite for the No. 2 RB job behind Jahmyr Gibbs, but this isn't a great look for a guy with an extensive injury history.

Pacheco has missed 17 games with injuries over the last three seasons, although this is the first knee issue in his injury history.

Pacheco only needs to hold off Sione Vake and Jacob Saylors for the No. 2 RB job. But he's on a cheap one-year, $1.8 million contract, so the Lions might be willing to make another addition to the backfield before Week 1.

We'll keep an eye on that, as well as Pacheco's recovery from this injury. He remains reasonably priced at a 13th-round ADP, but Pacheco is certainly riskier now than he was 24 hours ago.
