
Just one day after Mike LaFleur said that Jeremiyah Love’s ankle is a “little bit more sore than we were anticipating,” the Cardinals head coach refused to say whether Love had a high ankle sprain per Cardinals beat writer Theo Mackie.

After sitting out the Hall of Fame Game, Love looked impressive in his preseason debut, tallying 11 rush attempts for 58 yards and 3 receptions for 14 more.
His night ended with an ankle injury, but LaFleur deemed it not serious, saying “he’s fine” and that he could’ve returned if the team had needed him.
Just a couple of days later, LaFleur changed his tune, saying that Love’s ankle was a “little bit more sore than we were anticipating” and that he’d keep the rookie RB out this week to let him heal.
Now, the possibility of Love having a high-ankle sprain is as alive as ever. With LaFleur declining to speak on it, the possibility that he misses his chance to make his regular season debut in week one is a growing one.
