Jayden Higgins, one of the most impressive players in Texans camp, went down in pain during practice. He got up on his own, but his day ended early, and Demeco Ryans had no update as Higgins continued to be evaluated for a leg injury, per Texans beat writer Cole Thompson.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Breakout Buzz Hits Pause
After going in the second round, Higgins had an underwhelming rookie season: just 7.6 PPR fantasy points per game (PPG), less than a 12.0% target share, and 1.00 yards per team pass attempt.
But Higgins averaged 12.7 PPG in the two games he played at least 80% of the snaps.
With the buzz surrounding an impressive training camp heading into his second season, Higgins has projected as a full-time wide receiver and a candidate for a sizable second-year leap.
We’ll monitor the injury, but CJ Stroud said he thinks Higgins will be fine, per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston.
