Mike Evans Headshot

49ers WR Mike Evans exited Tuesday's joint practice with the Chargers and did not return. He initially had his left foot wrapped in ice before later getting his quad wrapped. HC Kyle Shanahan said afterward that it's the same quad that kept Evans out for two weeks earlier this month.

What They're Saying

Shanahan: “They just said he has some tightness, so we were just being smart, taking him out. I don’t think it’s anything worse, so we’ll see when we get in there, but nothing that I’m worried about right now.”

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: TD Upside, Fragile Floor

Evans initially hurt his quad on August 1 and was out until August 15. It's unclear if this was a true aggravation, but it's worrisome nonetheless.

Evans turns 33 in a few days, has a lengthy injury history, and is now dealing with a recurring quad issue.

Evans brings plenty of TD upside, but he carries a scary-low floor at his fifth-round ADP.
