49ers WR Mike Evans missed training camp time with quad and groin injuries. But he said Monday that the injuries weren't significant and that he wouldn't have missed time if they were regular-season practices.
What They're Saying
Evans:“The training staff did a great job working with me. I know I'm an older player. I've had probably over a thousand football practices in my life now, so I know what I'm doing out there. They know what they're doing. They did a good job taking care of me. None of my injuries were significant, so if it was a game week, I wouldn't have missed any time.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
It was certainly unsettling to see Evans miss so much time this summer with soft-tissue problems. But none of the issues ever sounded significant, and Evans is set to make his 49ers debut vs. the Rams on Thursday night.
There's still durability risk here. But a healthy Evans is capable of big fantasy production as the top target in an efficient passing attack. He's turned into a value at his WR30 ADP.
