Steelers WR D.K. Metcalf endured a forgettable Week 1 despite Sunday’s win over Atlanta. The veteran caught only 4 of 10 targets for 40 yards while adding two drops and two offensive pass interference penalties.

The rough outing followed a training camp in which Metcalf missed a couple of weeks with an injury.
There were at least some encouraging usage signs. Metcalf commanded a 25% target share, up from 21.1% last season. Aaron Rodgers also attacked downfield, posting 9.2 air yards per attempt -- his highest mark as a Steeler.
Still, Metcalf needs to turn that opportunity into production before moving beyond WR3 range.
He’ll face CB Christian Gonzalez and the Patriots on the road in Week 2.
