The Jets entered Week 3 without WR Adonai Mitchell and TE Mason Taylor. That helped rookie TE Kenyon Sadiq see a 21.6% target share, but he made the extra work count with 7 catches, 105 yards, and 1 score. Sunday marked only the fourth instance of a rookie TE hitting 100 yards since the beginning of last season.

“He can play multiple positions; as you saw today, he is a guy who is athletically on a different level than a lot of tight ends in this league, and he is extremely intelligent when it comes to understanding football. We want him to continue to grow in that aspect and try to get him the ball because we saw what he could do.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Sadiq showed a little bit of everything in this one.
On his TD, he worked downfield and made a slick diving catch in the end zone. He added a couple of other tough grabs that highlighted his ability to win at the catch point.
Sadiq also impressed after the catch, averaging nearly 7 yards after catch per reception. At 6'3, 241 pounds, he looked more like a WR than a traditional TE with the ball in his hands.
His deployment was just as encouraging. Sadiq ran 48% of his routes from the slot, 32% in line, and 16% out wide. That versatility should help create favorable matchups going forward.
Detroit's injury-ravaged defense certainly helped. The Lions were missing several pieces in the secondary, including S Kerby Joseph and S Brian Branch. Still, Sadiq's performance looked like confirmation of the athleticism and receiving talent he showed at Oregon. Nothing about Sunday looked fluky.
It also helps that Geno Smith continues to play excellent football. He completed 31 of 37 passes for 321 yards and 0 INTs.
Even when Mason Taylor and Adonai Mitchell return, Sadiq should carry at least spot-start value. Next comes another banged-up defense in Chicago, putting Sadiq firmly on the streaming radar.
