The Saints are placing RB Travis Etienne on IR with his hamstring injury, HC Kellen Moore said Thursday. Etienne is out for at least the next 4 games. That extends to New Orleans' Week 8 bye, so Week 9 is the earliest we'll see Etienne again.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Etienne is worth keeping stashed where possible, but he's droppable in shallow-bench fantasy leagues. He was shaping up as a low-end RB2 or high-end RB3 before the hamstring injury.
His absence leaves the Saints' backfield to Alvin Kamara, Kendre Miller, and C.J. Donaldson. Our current expectation is that Kamara and Miller will split early-down work, Kamara will garner the most passing-game action, and Donaldson will continue to mix in primarily on obvious passing downs.
We'll see what the backfield looks like vs. the Falcons on Monday night and re-assess from there. Kamara and Miller are worth rostering in most fantasy leagues.
