TE Oronde Gadsden II drew a team-high 8 targets in Sunday's loss at Seattle. He turned that into 5 catches (tied for the team lead) and 36 yards (third). Gadsden got relatively involved early, leading the Chargers with 3 first-half targets, all of them before the middle of the second quarter. RB Keaton Mitchell ranked second with 6 targets. WR Tre Harris followed with 5.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: That's Not Yet Clear
If Gadsden usage continues at anywhere near its Week 4 level, he'll join the weekly starter conversation. His 25.8% target share ranked seventh among TEs for the week.
But his route participation actually declined from 72.1% in Week 3 (18th among TEs) to 60.0% in Week 4 (27th). And Gadsden drew just 9.1% of targets in Week 3, the first game without TEs Charlie Kolar and David Njoku.
Gadsden drew 3 targets in that loss at Buffalo, catching none of them.
The Week 4 results make Gadsden worth a look for a Week 5 home date with Denver. But the team's mercurial target distribution and poor offensive performance keeps the second-year TE a shaky bet.
Njoku's out at least two more games after landing on IR with his fibula injury. Kolar could return sooner, however, after the team decided not to place him on IR for his forearm injury.
Keep that factor in mind as you decide whether to bother adding Gadsden off waivers.
