Colts QB Daniel Jones heads into the Monday night game just outside the top 12 scorers at his position for the week, but that's not because he played well or put up big numbers in the loss to the Titans. Jones completed just 22 of his 42 passes for 269 yards (6.4 yards per attempt) and 1 TD with a pair of INTs. The 52.4% completion rate marks a season low and also marks the third straight week in which Jones has set a season low. He's now averaging an INT per week to accompany just 4 TDs. Jones also took a season-high 6 sacks from a defense that entered Sunday averaging 2 per game. The one think Jones did better than in previous outings was run, gaining a season-high 30 yards on his three attempts. The first five games found Jones averaging just 5.0 yards and reaching 10 once while never exceeding that number.
What They're Saying: Jones Looks as Bad as His Numbers
James Boyd of The Athletic: "Jones' poor decision-making this season has belied the two-year, $88 million contract he signed to become the Colts' franchise quarterback earlier this year. He hardly even looks like a competent starter anymore. He deserves some grace for being just over 10 months removed from rupturing his right Achilles' tendon, but his issues this year appear to be mental more than physical, thanks to his recklessness."
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Outlook Gets Even Worse Next Two Weeks
Week 6 marked the first time this season that Jones has finished a week higher than QB23, but the performance gave no reason to believe he'll deliver better results going forward.
In fact, the matchups get even worse the next two weeks with trips to Minnesota and Jacksonville.
On top of facing two of the league's highest-rated defenses, each opponent will also be coming off its bye, leaving room for fresher players and extended prep time.
The question here is not whether you should use Jones in fantasy but whether he might play his way into Anthony Richardson getting another shot at some point.
That doesn't appear to be in sight right now, but we'll see how things develop for the 2-4 Colts.
More favorable home dates with the Cowboys and Dolphins sit on the other side of that Jaguars meeting, but Jones likely won't even make for an attractive play then outside of multi-QB formats.
