Matthew Stafford Headshot

Rams QB Matthew Stafford posted strong lines of 281-3 and 259-4 in two 2025 meetings with Arizona. His first matchup with the Cardinals this season was quieter, though, as he finished with 222 yards and 2 TDs.

What They're Saying

Here's HC Sean McVay on what the team needs to correct following its fourth loss.

“We won’t win a game unless we figure out how not to beat ourselves," he said via NFL.com. "Just so many unforced errors, so many things that are not in alignment with what we want to do, specifically on the offensive side of the ball. ... We didn’t do enough. I thought our defense did enough to keep us in the game, but anytime that we’d string a little bit of momentum, we’d turn it over, we’d take a negative. We jump offsides on a fourth-and-3 to put it to a fourth-and-8. We have a lot to look at ourselves on, and we have to be able to go back to the drawing board and figure out how we improve, to be able to not beat ourselves before we figure out how to even come away with some of the results."

2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Rams Now Shorthanded

This was a weird one.

The Rams suffered a major home upset, scoring just 16 points despite carrying an implied total around 32.

Los Angeles managed only 56 plays and went 4 of 12 combined on third and fourth downs. Stafford took three sacks behind an offensive line missing suspended LT Alaric Jackson and was also strip-sacked on a two-point conversion attempt.

His TDs went to Blake Corum and Colby Parkinson. Corum did most of the work on a 15-yard screen, while Parkinson powered through a tackler after catching a short pass in the flat.

Jackson returns in Week 7, but Davante Adams’ leg injury adds a new concern. Consider Adams questionable at best for Sunday’s matchup with the Raiders, adding risk to Stafford’s QB1 outlook. Beyond that, the schedule looks fine for scoring potential: vs. the Chargers, at the Commanders, and at the Cardinals.
