Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson tallied 115 total yards and a TD in Thursday night’s loss to the Bears. He carried just 6 times for 22 yards in a game New England trailed throughout. But he led the team with 93 receiving yards on 5 catches. The vast majority of that production came on a 48-yard catch-and-run TD at the end of the first half. The Bears defense fell asleep on a short dump-off to Stevenson, allowing him to weave untouched into the end zone.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Big Score, Shaky Usage
Stevenson’s Week 7 fantasy production was nice but unsustainable. That long receiving score was fluky. And he continued to work in a 3-RB committee.
Stevenson led the Patriots backfield with a 68% snap rate and 58% route rate. But he handled just 46% of the RB carries, losing 4 to Corey Kiner and 3 to TreVeyon Henderson.
Kiner has become a real part of New England’s offense. All of his Week 6 work came in clock-killing mode in the fourth quarter. But he mixed in on the Patriots’ second possession vs. the Bears, carrying twice for 2 yards. He carried twice more in the second quarter.
Henderson finished second among Patriots RBs in snaps (25%) and routes (14%), totaling 23 yards on 5 touches.
The trailing game script in the second half likely boosted Stevenson’s playing time. He remains the team’s most-trusted back in pass protection. But he’s now losing work, particularly on early downs, to two RBs.
Stevenson has also struggled on the ground, averaging just 3.7 yards per carry against the Bears and 3.7 on the season.
Stevenson gets plus matchups the next 2 weeks against the Dolphins and Packers. But his schedule from Week 10 on is the sixth-hardest.
Needy fantasy teams can continue to start Stevenson, particularly these next 2 weeks. But he’s also a potential sell candidate coming off this big game on shoddy usage.
