Bucky Irving Headshot

Irving dominated the meaningful backfield work in the blowout win, turning 24 carries into 106 yards and 2 TDs. He added 1 catch for 4 yards and finished as RB2 for the week. Before garbage time, Irving handled 60% of the RB opportunities, 55% of the rush attempts and 80% of the carries inside the 10. He took all 4 carries inside the 5, and he played 71% of the two-minute RB snaps and 55% of third-down snaps. His 24 carries were a season high, and this was his first multi-TD game of the year.

2026 Fantasy Football Impact

The rotation looked wider than usual, with Kenneth Gainwell getting 14 carries and Sean Tucker getting 7. That was mostly a product of Tampa Bay running 49 times. All of Tucker’s snaps came in short-yardage situations or garbage time. In games with a more normal run-pass ratio, Irving should return to a higher snap share. He now has 558 rushing yards and 4 TDs on 120 carries (4.7 per carry), plus 18 catches for 78 yards and a score. His production has been uneven, with a 165-yard game in Week 5 and four games under 65 rushing yards. But the goal-line role keeps his TD upside intact.

The Buccaneers host Atlanta in Week 8, visit Chicago in Week 9 and then have their bye. Heading into Week 7, the Falcons ranked 12th in fantasy points allowed to RBs (22.62 per game). The Bears have been much tougher, allowing the third-fewest (17.02). Gainwell also left this game with a hip injury, which could funnel even more work to Irving. He’s an upper-tier RB2 every week, and the Atlanta matchup gives him RB1 upside.
