Jacobs made his season debut after his roster exemption was lifted and immediately took over as the Packers’ lead back. He ran 11 times for 36 yards and caught 5 of 7 targets for 55 yards and a TD. That receiving work powered an RB7 finish. Jacobs played 35 of 67 snaps (52%), with MarShawn Lloyd as the primary backup (24 snaps) and Pierre Strong third (8). He handled both goal-line snaps and led on third downs, but the snaps weren’t split by any clear drive or situation pattern.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Green Bay’s run game remained a problem, totaling just 60 yards on 19 carries (2.9 per carry) in the 20-17 loss. The Packers leaned heavily on the pass, with Jordan Love throwing 45 times. Kaleb Johnson was a healthy inactive with Jacobs back, and Chris Brooks remains on IR. Jacobs’ snap share should climb in the coming weeks, though maybe not by much. Green Bay’s offensive line and pass-heavy approach could keep him from the must-start status he’s had in past seasons.
The schedule is a mixed bag. Green Bay hosts Carolina in Week 8, visits New England in Week 9 and hosts Minnesota in Week 10. Heading into Week 7, the Panthers ranked fifth in fantasy points allowed to RBs (25.68 per game), and the Patriots ranked 16th (20.65). The Vikings allowed the fewest (14.28). Jacobs can be started in most leagues as an RB2, and Week 8 against Carolina is his best chance at a big day.
