Antonio Williams led the Commanders in targets for the first time this season, catching five of 7 targets for 54 yards on his way to 10.4 PPR points and a WR3 ranking in Week 8 pending Monday Night Football. It’s the rookie WRs second-highest scoring performance over his first seven games.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact: Volume Trend Points Up
Williams and QB Jayden Daniels connected on a 30-yard dot in the fourth quarter for his longest reception of the night, putting the Commanders in position to take a two possession lead and never look back.
It was the first game the Commanders started without Terry McLaurin since his season ended with a torn patellar tendon against the 49ers in Week 6. That makes Williams’ career-high 25.9% target share against the Eagles even more encouraging when projecting ahead.
He’s accounting for a target on 18.2% of his routes, and with his route share topping 75% for the first time and reaching a career-high 88.6% in Week 8, his target volume uptick is expected to continue.
Unfortunately, competition will get stiffer with the Commanders taking on a Rams defense in Week 9 that’s allowing the fifth-fewest points to WRs.
