Washington has signed WR Dontrelle Inman. The 31-year-old has spent time with the Chargers, Bears and Colts over 6 NFL seasons. He had a 58-catch campaign back in 2016 but has totaled just 65 grabs in the 3 seasons since. Inman is basically a replacement-level player -- but there's opportunity in Washington with WR Kelvin Harmon out of the year and WR Cody Latimer on the Commissioner's Exempt List. Inman and rookie Antonio Gandy-Golden figure to be battling for the outside WR spot opposite Terry McLaurin.
Washington WR Kelvin Harmon tore an ACL getting ready for training camp, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Harmon himself tweeted that he underwent surgery last week. The injury will cost him the entire 2020 campaign. Harmon was the early favorite for Washington's #2 outside WR job opposite Terry McLaurin. Now rookie Antonio Gandy-Golden, Cody Latimer and Cam Sims will duke it out for that spot. We'll monitor that battle but won't be spending draft picks on any of those guys for now. The fantasy winner here is WR Terry McLaurin and, to a lesser extent, slot WR Steven Sims.
The Redskins added Liberty WR Antonio Gandy-Golden in the 4th round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Gandy-Golden dominated his lower-level competition over the past 2 seasons, posting 71-1,037-10 and 79-1,396-10 lines. He also showed well at the Combine, registering a 57th percentile SPARQ score at 6’4 and 223 pounds. Gandy-Golden struggled against tougher defenses, though. He totaled 8 catches, 98 yards and 1 TD in 2 games against Virginia and mustered only 22 scoreless yards vs. Auburn. So it’s fair to question how he’ll hold up against professional CBs. He’ll find plenty of opportunity in Washington, though, where Terry McLaurin is the only WR locked into a role.
