Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring, back) did not practice on Wednesday.  He's left the past 2 games with injuries -- the hammy in Week 7 and the back this past Sunday.  We still don't have any details on the severity of the back injury.  Consider Foster no better than 50-50 for this weekend's game against the Cardinals.  RB Ben Tate would serve as the lead back with RB Dennis Johnson as the #2 if Foster can't go

Texans RB Arian Foster was knocked out of Sunday night's game in the 1st quarter not with hamstring trouble, but with a back injury.  He's been ruled out for the rest of the game.  The injuries are piling up now for the 27-year-old.  Ben Tate will serve as Houston's lead back the rest of the way, with Dennis Johnson as the #2.

Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) is officially active for tonight's game against the Colts.  He's a risky fantasy play.  We don't know whether his snaps will be limited, and there's a real chance of an in-game aggravation. RB Dennis Johnson is active as Houston's #3 RB behind Foster and Ben Tate.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) will be active for tonight's game against the Colts  We'll find out for sure around 7 pm ET.  If he suits up, Foster will be a shaky fantasy option on that bum hammy.  Remember that he lasted just 8 snaps last time out.  It's unclear how the workload will be divided in Houston's backfield tonight, but RB Ben Tate is the safer fantasy play.

It "doesn't look good" for Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) to play against the Colts tonight, according to insider Jason La Canfora.  Foster is officially a game-time decision.  With the late kickoff, he needs to be on fantasy benches unless you have a viable replacement.  If Foster is out, Ben Tate will serve as Houston's lead back, with Deji Karim, Dennis Johnson or Ray Graham stepping in as the #2.

Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) was listed as a full participant in Friday's practice.  He's listed as questionable and remains a game-time decision for Week 9.  But the full practice makes us believe Foster has a good chance of playing on Sunday night.  The chance of an in-game aggravation still makes him a risky fantasy start, though.

Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) is a game-time decision for Week 9.  He put in limited practices on Thursday and Friday and appears to be heading in the right direction.  But the Sunday night game puts fantasy owners in a tough spot.  Even if Foster ends up active, he’d be a risky start.  Remember that he left after just 8 snaps in Houston’s last game.  Ideally, Foster owners can roster Ben Tate.  But he’s not available in most leagues.  The Texans will activate a 3rd RB on Sunday night, but we don’t know if that will be Deji Karim, Dennis Johnson or Ray Graham.

Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) returned to practice on Thursday.  HC Gary Kubiak said he took all his "scheduled reps" and took "positive steps."  Foster is heading in the right direction but remains questionable for Sunday night's game against the Colts.  Friday will be a big day for him.  RB Ben Tate (ribs) practiced for the 2nd straight day on Thursday.  He's on track to play this weekend, but his fantasy outlook will depend on Foster's status.

Texans HC Gary Kubiak said Wednesday that RBs Arian Foster (hamstring) and Ben Tate (ribs) could both end up as game-time decisions for Week 9.  That'd put owners in a tough spot considering Houston takes on the Colts on Sunday Night Football.  Of course, we still have a few days of practice reports to chew on.  Kubiak said both RBs will be "very limited" on Wednesday.

Texans HC Gary Kubiak admits he's "very concerned" about the team's RB situation.  Both Arian Foster (hamstring) and Ben Tate (ribs) are iffy for Sunday's game against the Colts.  "I think they’re both going to give us everything they can to try to play this week," Kubiak said.  "I don’t think we’re going to know anything until later in the week.”  Tate has expressed more confidence in his Week 9 availability.  His broken ribs are mostly a matter of pain tolerance.  Foster, meanwhile, needs to be careful with that bum hamstring.  We'll continue to keep a close eye on this situation.  Houston has added 3 RBs -- Deji Karim, Dennis Johnson and Ray Graham -- to the active roster over the past couple days.

Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) stopped short of guaranteeing that he'll be ready for Sunday's game against Colts, only saying that he'll "work toward" it.  He didn't participate in Monday's post-bye week practice but expects to get back on the field later this week.  We'll keep a close eye on Foster's progress.  For now, consider him 50-50 to play Week 9.  RB Ben Tate (ribs) is also iffy.

Insider John McClain expects the Texans to add a free-agent RB to the mix before their Week 9 game against the Colts.  RBs Arian Foster (hamstring) and Ben Tate (ribs) are both iffy for that 1.  Michael Turner, Cedric Benson and Beanie Wells are the top available RBs, although none seems like a great fit in Houston's zone-blocking scheme.  We'll keep an eye on the situation.  If the Texans do add a back, he'll be worth adding as a fantasy flier.

Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) said he expects to be ready to go after the Week 8 bye.  It's better than the alternative, but Foster's optimism doesn't mean a whole lot.  The fact that he was quickly ruled out of this past Sunday's game suggests a significant injury.  We'd consider Foster no better than 50-50 to play against the Colts in 2 weeks.

Texans HC Gary Kubiak called RB Arian Foster (hamstring) "day-to-day."  It seems like an optimistic label considering Foster was ruled out of yesterday's game so quickly.  Houston has a Week 8 bye, so we're unlikely to get another update until next week.  We'd still consider Foster questionable for Week 9.  Hamstrings have a tendency to linger, especially for RBs with over 1,000 carries in the past 3-and-a-half seasons.

Texans RB Arian Foster left in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game against the Chiefs with hamstring trouble.  He's already been ruled out for the rest of the game, possibly suggesting a severe injury.  The hamstring kept Foster out of practice on Thursday.  Ben Tate will serve as Houston's lead back the rest of the way.

2:18pm EDT 10/20/13

Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) is active for today's game against the Chiefs.  He sat out on Thursday but returned to practice on Friday and ended up probable on the injury report.  Expect a busy day for Foster at Arrowhead Stadium.

Texans RB Arian Foster (hamstring) returned to a full practice on Friday after sitting out Thursday.  He’s probable for this weekend’s game against the Chiefs.  There’s nothing to suggest that hammy will be an issue.  Foster will be a workhorse for a Texans team going with Case Keenum at QB.

Texans RB Arian Foster sat out on Thursday with what HC Gary Kubiak called a "sore hamstring."  Kubiak also said that Foster will play against the Chiefs this weekend.  We'll keep an eye on the situation over the next couple days, but Foster is safe to leave in fantasy lineups for now.

ESPN's John Clayton says RB Arian Foster is "banged-up."  He's listed on this week's injury report with thumb and chest issues.  He's also dealing with a foot injury, per Clayton.  Foster is in no danger of missing this weekend's game against the Rams -- he's listed as probable -- but it's a situation to track going forward.  Foster has been a workhorse over the past 3 years and has already racked up 115 touches this season.  RB Ben Tate is worth rostering in all fantasy leagues.

Texans RB Arian Foster admits that he's still not at 100%.  "It’ll probably be a couple games before I feel back to 100% myself," he said. "But I felt good [in the opener] — I felt comparatively good.”  Foster looked sluggish against the Chargers Monday night, averaging just 3.2 yards on his 18 carries.  He also dropped 2 passes.  He still finished with 90 total yards, though, thanks to 24 total touches.  HC Gary Kubiak continues to say that he wants to split the workload between Foster and Tate, but we'll believe it when we see it.  Foster is a good bet for another 20+ touches in Week 2, making him a must-start in fantasy.
