The Seahawks have agreed to a 2-year deal with DE Carlos Dunlap. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that it's worth $16.6 million, with $8.5 million guaranteed. Seattle released Dunlap earlier in the offseason, but the new deal makes it clear that was a cap move. Dunlap went from falling out of favor in Cincinnati and registering just 4 QB hits in 7 games to rebounding after a trade to the Seahawks. Dunlap delivered 14 hits over 8 games in Seattle, despite a foot injury that cost him 1 week and limited his playing time in at least 2 others. Dunlap has DL2 potential for 2021 IDP leagues.

He managed only a single limited practice Friday, though, and saw his snaps limited the last time he played through this foot issue 2 weeks ago. There's upside to Dunlap's matchup, but he's a risky IDP option. He's more worth a shot in sack-heavy scoring than in formats that lean toward tackle scoring.

The Bengals are trading DE Carlos Dunlap to the Seahawks, according to multiple reports. The move sends a disgruntled veteran whose playing time had fallen off to a defense badly in need of pass rush help. Dunlap remained a productive player last season. We'll see what kind of numbers in what should be greatly increased playing time with Seattle. COVID protocols will keep Dunlap from being available for Sunday's game against San Francisco, but he's worth stashing in IDP leagues for Week 9 and beyond. The Seahawks have already had their bye.

The Bengals placed DE Sam Hubbard on IR with his left elbow injury ahead of Sunday's loss to the Colts. That means Hubbard will also miss at least weeks 7 and 8. He'll be eligible to return after the Week 9 bye, though, if that elbow is ready. Cincinnati still played DE Carlos Dunlap for a season-low 44% of the snaps against Indy, even with Hubbard out. Dunlap isn't much of an IDP option at his current usage.

The Bengals have deemed DE Carlos Dunlap doubtful for Sunday's game against the Jaguars with the knee injury that kept him out last week. Dunlap's replacement, Carl Lawson, has already been ruled out for the game with a hamstring injury. The matchup gets even better for Leonard Fournette and Gardner Minshew.

The Bengals announced Friday that DT Geno Atkins tore his right ACL in Thursday night's loss to the Dolphins.  That's a big blow to the Cincinnati defense, taking away arguably the league's best interior pass-rusher.  Atkins' pressure not only creates sacks for himself but flushes QBs out to the waiting arms of Bengals DEs.  We won't downgrade the team D or any individual Cincinnati defenders in our rest of the way rankings before seeing how the team responds.  But don't be surprised if the unit slips a bit.
