The Bucs believe that WR Cecil Shorts dislocated and tore multiple ligaments in his knee in Sunday's game against the Chargers. The injury looked serious when it happened. Shorts is done for the season. Turning 29 in a few weeks, he's still never made it through a full 16-game season.

Bucs WR Cecil Shorts will start in place of Vincent Jackson (knee) against the 49ers on Sunday, HC Dirk Koetter said. Shorts has 1 catch on 2 targets through 2 outings this season. His production will obviously climb now, but probably not enough to put him on the fantasy radar. WR Adam Humphries -- who will maintain his slot role -- and TE Cameron Brate are better bets to benefit from Jackson's absence.

The Texans have released WR Cecil Shorts. The 28-year-old was buried on the depth chart and not worth the $1.2 million he was set to make this season. He figures to latch on elsewhere but is off the fantasy radar. Houston is set to roll with DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller, Braxton Miller and Jaelen Strong as its top 4 WRs.

Texans WRs Cecil Shorts (hamstring) and Nate Washington (hip) are active for today’s game against Kansas City.  Houston enters this matchup at full strength, but we still expect a low-scoring contest between two strong defenses.  The Vegas over/under for this game is hovering around 39.5.

Texans WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) put in a full practice on Thursday.  He's good to go for Saturday's game against the Chiefs but will only be a fantasy consideration if WR Nate Washington (hip) is out.  Washington returned to a limited practice on Thursday and seems 50/50 to play this weekend.

Texans WR Nate Washington (hip) did not practice on Wednesday.  WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring), meanwhile, was limited.  Shorts obviously seems like the better bet to play against the Chiefs on Saturday.  We'll continue to keep an eye on both guys.  Rookie WR Jaelen Strong will see more action if Washington and/or Shorts don't play.

Texans WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) said after Sunday's regular-season finale that he expects to be back for the playoff opener against the Chiefs.  “Now, it’s go-time,” he said. “Now, it’s a whole new season. The slates are clean. Everything is 0-0. Gotta get it going.”  Shorts' health has taken on increased importance with WR Nate Washington injuring his hip yesterday.  That forced rookie Jaelen Strong into the #2 WR role.

Texans WR Nate Washington hurt his hip and will miss the rest of Sunday's game against the Jaguars.  He finishes with 1 catch for 6 yards.  We'll see if he's available for next weekend's playoff opener.  WR Cecil Shorts (groin) is inactive today.

Texans WR Cecil Shorts (groin) is out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.  The fact that he was ruled out so early in the week makes him seem doubtful for the 1st round of the playoffs.  His absence in the regular-season finale makes Nate Washington an intriguing fantasy flier.  He's posted lines of 9-127-2, 4-74-1 and 3-42-1 in 3 games without Shorts this season.

Texans WR Cecil Shorts (groin) is inactive for today's game against the Titans.  That leaves Nate Washington as the clear #2 WR, but he'd be tough to trust in fantasy lineups with QB Brandon Weeden under center.

Texans WR Cecil Shorts injured his groin in the 1st half and has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Colts.  That leaves Nate Washington as Houston's clear-cut #2 WR.

Texans WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) has been a full-go at practice this week and is set to return for Monday night’s game against the Bengals. With both Shorts and Nate Washington healthy for the season's first 3 games, the targets were 29-28 in favor of Shorts. Both guys are shaky WR3s for Week 10.

Texans HC Bill O'Brien ruled out WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) for Week 8 on Thursday afternoon.  The timing suggests that Shorts isn't particularly close to a return.  His absence leaves Nate Washington's in the #2 WR role.  That produced a whopping 16 targets last week.  Don't expect that much action this Sunday, but Washington is a good bet for at least 7 or 8 looks in what figures to be a pass-happy attack.  That makes him a lower-end WR3 in season-long leagues and a cheap option in DFS.

Texans WR Nate Washington (hamstring) is probable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.  He'll serve as the #2 WR with Cecil Shorts out. But Washington is just an emergency fantasy option. WR DeAndre Hopkins will continue to dominate targets.

Texans WR Cecil Shorts won't play against the Dolphins on Sunday, HC Bill O'Brien announced on Wednesday.  Shorts apparently injured his hamstring in last week's game against the Jaguars.  We'll see if Nate Washington can return from his own hammy issue.  If not, rookies Keith Mumphery and Jaelen Strong will be left as the #2 and #3 WRs.

Texans WR Cecil Shorts (hamstring) is probable for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars. He’ll step back in as the #2 WR but won’t see as many targets as he had been now that Arian Foster is back. Shorts is a WR4. WR Nate Washington (shoulder) remains out.

Texans WR Cecil Shorts (shoulder) returned to practice on Wednesday.  It looks like he'll be back for this weekend's game against his old team, the Jaguars.  That'll push rookie WRs Keith Mumphery and Jaelen Strong back down the depth chart.

Texans WRs Cecil Shorts (shoulder) and Nate Washington (hamstring) have been ruled out for Thursday night's game against the Colts.  Look for 5th-round rookie WR Keith Mumphery to start opposite WR DeAndre Hopkins.  WR Jaelen Strong also figures to see make his debut after being a healthy scratch the first 4 weeks.  Hopkins will continue to dominate targets.
