The Saints signed WR Chris Hogan. He has 216 NFL catches under his belt -- but just 22 have come over the past 2 seasons. Hogan turns 33 in October. He's not the answer to New Orleans' Michael Thomas-sized hole at WR.

Jets WR Jamison Crowder (hamstring) missed practice again on Thursday. HC Adam Gase conceded that Crowder is "doubtful" for this weekend's game against the Colts. With WR Breshad Perriman (ankle) also expected to be out, the Jets will be down to WRs Chris Hogan and Braxton Berrios.

Jets WR Breshad Perriman is considered "week to week" after spraining his left ankle in Sunday's loss to the 49ers, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. That likely means the wideout will miss at least Sunday's game against the Colts. The Jets also watched WR Chris Hogan leave Sunday's game with a rib injury, but NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports there was no fracture and that Hogan "should be OK moving forward." Rookie WR Denzel Mims (hamstring) is on IR for at least another 2 games, and WR Jamison Crowder missed Week 2 with his own hamstring injury. That left Hogan, Braxton Berrios and Josh Malone as the Jets' top 3 in targets vs. San Francisco. Yuck. We'll see who's available heading into Week 3.

Jets WR Denzel Mims suffered a hamstring injury in training camp. Per HC Adam Gase, the rookie “took a weird step and got it stretched out” earlier in the week. With Mims sidelined, Vyncint Smith is running as the #3 WR. More importantly, Jamison Crowder and Breshad Perriman get small boosts as mid- to late-round targets.

Update: The team believes Mims' hamstring injury is not serious. Smith has since joined Mims on the sideline with a core injury. The Jets then added WR Chris Hogan.

Panthers WR D.J. Moore (concussion) is out for Sunday's finale against the Saints. That leaves Carolina with Curtis Samuel, Jarius Wright and Chris Hogan atop the depth chart. We'd still try to avoid all 3 guys with Will Grier under center.

The Panthers have signed WR Chris Hogan to a 1-year contract. He follows fleeting AAF star Rashad Ross onto a roster that shed WR Devin Funchess this offseason but retains Torrey Smith as an outside speed WR. Carolina also returns D.J. Moore, Curtis Samuel and Jarius Wright -- 3 of last year's top 5 targets. Hogan endured a wildly disappointing 2018 and then got shunned by a New England team short on pass-catchers. Don't bet on Hogan rebounding for fantasy football value.

Patriots WR Josh Gordon announced Thursday that he's stepping away from the team to focus on his mental health. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Gordon is facing another indefinite suspension for violating terms of his reinstatement under the substance abuse policy. Don't expect to see him on the field again this season -- and this could spell the end of Gordon's NFL career. It's obviously a significant loss for the Patriots. Gordon has played over 70% of New England offensive snaps since arriving and averaged 6.2 targets per game. WR Chris Hogan would seem like the big winner, but he averaged just 4.7 targets and 2.3 catches over the first 3 weeks before the Gordon trade. We should see some more WR Cordarrelle Patterson, while WR Julian Edelman, TE Rob Gronkowski and RB James White could also pick up an extra target or 2.

Update: Gordon has been suspended indefinitely for violating the terms of his reinstatement under the substance abuse policy. It's the 5th suspension of his NFL career and could result in permanent banishment from the league.

Patriots WR Chris Hogan (thigh) is active for tonight’s game against the Chiefs. He only put in limited practices on Wednesday and Friday, so don’t expect him to be at 100%. That only adds more downside to a guy who’s yet to top 3 catches in a game this season.

Patriots WR Chris Hogan (thigh) is questionable for Sunday night's game against the Chiefs. He was held out of Thursday's practice but returned to a limited workout on Friday. We're expecting him to play, but Hogan is just a fantasy flier -- despite what should be a high-scoring affair.

Patriots WR Julian Edelman is facing a 4-game suspension for violating the league’s policy on performance enhancing substances, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Edelman has appealed the ban, so we'll see if it gets reduced. But fantasy owners should now be drafting as if he'll miss the first 4 games of the season. Edelman is returning from last August's torn ACL but had averaged 9.6 targets per game over the previous 3 seasons. So this is a big opportunity opening up in an offense that's finished top 12 in passing yards in an incredible 16 straight years. WR Chris Hogan is a good bet to serve as New England's #1 WR during Edelman's suspension. Jordan Matthews, Malcolm Mitchell, Kenny Britt, Phillip Dorsett and Cordarrelle Patterson will battle for snaps behind Hogan.

Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) isn't listed on the team's final injury report and will play against the Titans on Saturday night. He's suited up just once since going down in Week 8 and finished that game with just 1 catch on 5 targets. So Hogan comes with plenty of risk as a fantasy option this week. But there's also intriguing upside against a leaky Tennessee pass defense. Hogan racked up 5 TDs across his first 8 games.

Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) remained limited in Tuesday's practice. He's been limited before missing each of New England's last 3 games. We'll continue to track his progress ahead of Saturday night's game vs. Tennessee.

11:12am EST 12/31/17

Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) is inactive for today’s game against the Jets. He’s expected back when New England returns for the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) won't play against the Jets today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It sounds like Hogan might have been able to play if New England truly needed him, so we're tentatively expecting him back for the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) is again listed as questionable after a limited week of practice. He’s gone through the same routine the past 2 weeks before ending up inactive. We’ll find out his official status by noon ET on Sunday.

Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) and RB James White (ankle) are inactive for today’s game against the Bills. TE Rob Gronkowski and WR Brandin Cooks should dominate targets for the Pats.

Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) is not expected to play today against the Bills, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Hogan entered the weekend questionable. He has surfaced for just 1 game (and 1 catch) since suffering the injury way back in Week 8.

Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Bills after a limited week of practice. It’s the same routine he went through last week before being inactive vs. the Steelers. We’ll find out his status by noon ET this time around. Hogan will be a risk/reward WR3 if active.

Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He put in 3 limited practices last week before being a surprise inactive on Sunday, so this doesn't necessarily mean much. We'll continue to track Hogan's status ahead of this weekend's game against the Bills.

2:12pm EST 12/17/17

Patriots WR Chris Hogan (shoulder) is inactive for today’s game against the Steelers. He evidently suffered a setback on Monday night or in practice this week. We’ll look for more information on his status for Week 16 and beyond. WR Danny Amendola becomes more interesting with Hogan out but is still just a PPR flier. WR Brandin Cooks and TE Rob Gronkowski should soak up most of Hogan’s targets.
