Brandin Cooks Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News reports that WR CeeDee Lamb plans to hold out when Cowboys training camp opens Wednesday. Lamb and the team have been working on a contract extension but have yet to work anything out.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb skipped offseason workouts ahead of what’s currently a contract year. Just note: That could change at any moment. Considering potential new deals for Dak Prescott and Micah Parsons, The Athletic’s Saad Yousuf believes Lamb is the Cowboy “most likely” to get paid before training camp. Yousuf writes that the contract “framework” is already in place following Justin Jefferson’s extension.

The Athletic's Jon Machota highlighted Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks as one of the team's standouts in spring workouts. Cooks has shown improved chemistry with QB Dak Prescott in their second offseason together.

Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks (illness) is active for today’s game vs. the Bills. He should be available for his usual role. WR Jalen Tolbert (illness) is also active.

Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks (illness) is expected to play vs. the Bills today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Cooks only got in a limited practice on Wednesday, but we're expecting him to play his usual role today, barring any further reports on his status.

Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks (illness) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bills. He only got in a limited practice on Wednesday. Guys almost always play through illness, so we’re expecting Cooks to be out there this weekend. But we’ll look for further updates on his status. WR Jalen Tolbert (illness) is also questionable.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott rebounded from a relative down week in the win at Carolina to hang 331 yards and 4 TD passes on the Commanders in Week 12. He did so while spreading the ball around more than usual. WR CeeDee Lamb led the way with 9 targets but posted just a 4-53-1 receiving line. WR Brandin Cooks snagged a 31-yard TD among his 4 receptions for 72 yards on 5 targets. The other two scores went to KaVontae Turpin from 34 yards out and RB Rico Dowdle on a 15-yard catch-and-run. The soft opponent certainly helped, but Prescott has now gone over 300 yards with 3+ TDs in four of his past five games. And his remaining schedule ranks third-best for QB scoring, with no truly worrisome spots. Prescott just might prove to be a league winner for 2023.

Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks exploded in Week 10, hauling in 9 of 10 targets for 173 receiving yards and a TD vs. the Giants. Sunday saw several Cowboys pass-catchers post great numbers, including WR CeeDee Lamb (11-151-1) and TE Jake Ferguson (4-26-1), but Cooks is the one that fantasy managers should be wary of chasing in the future. The 10 targets he saw on Sunday were his highest by far this season and mark only the second time in 2023 that Cooks has seen more than 4 in a single game. He and teammate Michael Gallup have essentially taken turns as the Cowboys' WR2 in terms of snap rate and route participation this year. It’s best to avoid chasing this performance if you’re looking for help on the waiver wire this week.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb secured all 7 of his targets for 117 receiving yards in Week 6’s victory vs. the Chargers. After a pair of sub-50-yard performances, the talented wideout finished as the WR10 on the week in PPR with 18.7 points. His teammate Brandin Cooks also made good on his opportunities, catching 4 passes on as many targets with 36 yards and a TD in the contest. Not all was good for these Cowboys’ wideouts, however. Michael Gallup saw a team-leading 10 targets but only converted 3 receptions for 24 yards on Monday night. This is a player who’d led the team in receiving yards (167) and receptions (13) over the past three games entering Week 6, so Gallup’s flop was assuredly disappointing for fantasy managers who opted to stream him this week. Following their Week 7 bye, the Cowboys will take on the Rams.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott struggled in the red zone in Week 3, leading to a lowly 249-1-1 passing line. “It just goes back to myself, the offense, in the red zone,” Dak said. “We get better there, we win this game. But we've got to fix that area, period.” After going one of five in the red zone on Sunday, the Cowboys now rank 27th in RZ efficiency. If we’re searching for a positive: Michael Gallup enjoyed his best game of 2023 (6-92). Brandin Cooks also returned in this one and dodged a setback. Prescott will look to rebound at home vs. New England.

Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks (knee) is not listed on the final Week 3 injury report. He practiced all week, including full workouts on Thursday and Friday. Cooks should be ready for his usual role in Sunday’s plus matchup vs. the Cardinals.

Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks (knee) was upgraded to full participation in Thursday's practice. He's on track to return for this weekend's game vs. the Cardinals. Dallas is sporting a big 27.75-point implied total for that one, making Cooks an upside WR4 option.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that WR Brandin Cooks (knee) is expected to be limited in practice on Wednesday, a full-go on Thursday, and then play vs. the Cardinals this weekend. We'll track his progress throughout the week.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb went off for 11 catches and 143 yards against the Jets. The 11 catches tied a career high. Top CB Sauce Gardner didn’t shadow him, and Dallas was wise to switch up Lamb’s alignment. We’ll see if Brandin Cooks (knee) misses another week, but regardless, Lamb will retain a top-5 ceiling for the road ahead. Next up is a matchup with Arizona.

Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks (knee) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Jets. His absence leaves a few extra targets for WR CeeDee Lamb, WR Michael Gallup, and TE Jake Ferguson, among others.

Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks (knee) is not expected to play vs. the Jets today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Reportedly dealing with a sprained MCL, Cooks did not practice all week. His absence will elevate Michael Gallup to the No. 2 WR role -- and likely Jalen Tolbert to No. 3. Neither guy is an exciting fantasy play against a stingy Jets secondary.

Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks (knee) did not practice all week. He’s listed as questionable, and owner Jerry Jones labeled him a game-time decision for Sunday’s tilt with the Jets. But it’s safe to assume that Cooks won’t be anywhere close to 100% if he suits up. Keep him on fantasy benches this week. Cooks' absence would leave extra targets for WR CeeDee Lamb, WR Michael Gallup, and TE Jake Ferguson, among others.
