Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti didn't mince words when addressing his team's current TE depth chart.  “We absolutely need a TE," Bisciotti said.  That obviously doesn't inspire confidence in the fantasy outlooks of Dennis Pitta and Crockett Gillmore.  Bisciotti said he's "praying" for Pitta to return from last year's hip injury but wouldn't commit to having him this season.  Biscotti believes Gillmore could catch "30-40 balls," but that's a relatively tame projection from an owner.  We'll see what Baltimore is able to add to the position over the next few months.  There's not much left available on the free-agent market, and it's a shallow rookie TE class.

Ravens TE Owen Daniels (knee) did not practice on Thursday.  It looks like he suffered a setback after putting in a limited workout on Wednesday -- not a surprise considering he was just 5 days removed from a knee scope.  Daniels now seems extremely iffy for Sunday night's game against the Steelers.  That'd mean another start for TE Crockett Gillmore.  He managed just 2 catches for 23 yards last week.

Ravens TE Owen Daniels will miss Sunday's game against the Bengals after having a "clean-up procedure" on his knee, according to insider Jamison Hensley.  His status beyond Week 8 is uncertain.  It's bad timing for Daniels, who had a prime matchup vs. Cincinnati's league-worst TE defense.  TE Crockett Gillmore is expected to start in Daniels' place.  The 3rd-round rookie has caught all 3 of his targets for 29 yards this season -- all coming over the past 2 weeks.  He's worth a look as a bottom-priced play in daily fantasy, but you should be able to do better in your season-long lineup.
