Saints LB Dannell Ellerbe (foot) and LB Craig Robertson (shoulder) are active for today's game against the Buccaneers. Both entered the weekend questionable but should be fine to use if you had planned to do so.

The Saints have ruled OLB Dannell Ellerbe (quad) out for the 4th straight game. That means Craig Robertson will start once again in his place. Robertson enters Week 4 tied for 3rd in the league in tackles and remains in starter territory in our IDP rankings this week.

The Saints list S Kenny Vaccaro (ankle), MLB James Laurinaitis (quad) and OLB Dannell Ellerbe (quad) as questionable for Sunday's game in San Diego. According to ESPN's Mike Triplett, Vaccaro has expressed confidence that he'll play after missing Week 3. Laurinaitis was added to the injury report this week and hasn't spoken to reporters since. Ellerbe just returned to practice this week after missing the 1st 3 games. If he remains out of the lineup, Craig Robertson would start in his place again. Should Ellerbe return, IDP owners might want to wait and see him get through a game before using him. Robertson has delivered strong numbers to date, though, indicating the upside in the position.

Saints OLB Stephone Anthony returned to practice Monday, according to The New Orleans Advocate. That comes about a week and a half after he suffered an unspecified leg injury in the preseason opener. Anthony's return before the 3rd exhibition suggests he'll be fine for the regular season, though we'll keep an eye on his status for IDP purposes. The Saints' depth chart has Anthony starting on the strong side, with James Laurinaitis in the middle and Dannell Ellerbe manning the weak side. DC Dennis Allen doesn't have a clear enough record in the NFL for us to determine which spot presents the highest tackle ceiling in his system. And Anthony's absence has clouded the sub-package plans for the crew. We'll try to decipher that further, but Anthony's age and athleticism keeps him the most intriguing IDP option for now.

The Saints have ruled out LBs Dannell Ellerbe (hip) and David Hawthorne (hamstring) for Sunday's game at Washington. Backup Ramon Humber (hamstring) is also out, likely raising the tackle upside for rookie ILB Stephone Anthony.

The Saints have ruled out OLB Hau'oli Kikaha (ankle) and ILB Dannell Ellerbe (hip) out for Sunday's game against the Titans. Kikaha's the bigger loss, as the team's #2 sack man for the year (with 4) and the team leader in forced fumbles (3). That only adds risk to an already boom/bust team D prospect in fantasy football this weekend. It also takes a high-ceiling option away from IDP owners. ILB David Hawthorne should replace Ellerbe without hurting the defense at all.

The Saints have deemed ILB Dannell Ellerbe doubtful for Sunday's game against the Giants because of a hip injury. The guy who would likely replace him, David Hawthorne, has already been ruled out with a hamstring injury. That makes Stephone Anthony the only ILB worth considering for your IDP lineup and adds some tackle upside to his profile.

Dolphins LB Dannell Ellerbe suffered a hip injury in Sunday's opener that will keep him out the rest of the season.  Miami placed him on IR on Monday.  MLB starter Koa Misi also aggravated an ankle sprain in Sunday's game and was in a walking boot afterward.  The team doesn't yet know how long he'll be out.  And the other OLB starter, Philip Wheeler, missed Sunday's game with a thumb injury.  Jason Trusnick started in Wheeler's place and moved to the middle when Misi left.  Jelani Jenkins joined him after Ellerbe's injury, with Johnathan Freeny coming in for limited snaps.  The team signed Kelvin Sheppard on Monday.  Don't chase any of them in your IDP league.  We'll keep an eye on Jenkins, though, to see if he can capitalize on the opportunity.

The Dolphins have cleared up their LB situation for at least a week by ruling strong-side LB Philip Wheeler out for the opener against New England.  Wheeler has been dealing with a thumb injury for 2 weeks.  Miami figures to start Jason Trusnick in his place, but Koa Misi could regain passing-down duties -- which he lost to Wheeler this preseason.  We're still not much interested in any of them for IDP purposes.  If you need 1, go for Ellerbe first.

Dolphins LB Dannell Ellerbe (shoulder) is active for tonight's meeting with the Bengals.  Observers say his left arm still appeared to be hanging in pre-game warmups.  He's a risky play, despite 11 tackles (just 2 solo) against the Patriots last week.  He did play all 68 snaps against New England, though, so he's usable.  Check where he sits in our Week 9 LB rankings.

Dolphins MLB Dannell Ellerbe (shoulder) is inactive against the Bills today.  The team's expected to start Jason Trusnick in his place.  The situation should add tackle upside to weak-side starter Phillip Wheeler, though.  Rookie Jelani Jenkins could also see playing time.

The Dolphins are clearing a spot for new MLB Dannell Ellerbe by releasing MLB Karlos Dansby. Interestingly, Pro Football Focus rated Dansby the 13th best ILB in the league last year -- 1 spot ahead of Ellerbe. Dansby scored a bit better in run D and significantly better in coverage. Ellerbe rated much better as a pass rusher. Ellerbe is 4 years younger with just 1 season of starting behind him. Dansby now looks like one of the best MLB candidates on the free market. Ellerbe should be ready to deliver LB2 status. We'll see where Dansby lands. OLB Kevin Burnett still looks like the weak-side starter in Miami.

The Dolphins have made another splash by adding ILB Dannell Ellerbe. The former Raven projects as a MLB, which is a spot Karlos Dansby manned well last season. Miami will have to sort out the positions for Ellerbe, Dansby and Kevin Burnett. However they line up, the Dolphins now sport one of the league's best LB corps. The Miami D could push for top-10 status in fantasy football leagues in 2013.
