Bears EDGE Khalil Mack needs foot surgery and will miss the rest of the season. He and the team had hoped that rest would allow him to recover enough to return, but that proved to not be the case. We'll see about Mack's recovery heading into 2022. Trevis Gipson looks like he'll continue as the primary guy opposite Robert Quinn. He has 0 QB hits in elevated playing time over the past 3 contests. Chicago also placed ILB Danny Trevathan (knee) back on IR, which he spent a stint on earlier this year. That re-opens the spot for Alec Ogletree next to Roquan Smith. For this week, the Bears have ruled DL Akiem Hicks (ankle) out for this week's game against the Chargers. S Eddie Jackson (hamstring) is questionable. He put in limited practices Thursday and Friday after missing Wednesday's workout.
The Bears have ruled EDGE Khalil Mack (foot) out for Monday night's game against the Steelers, the 2nd straight game he will have missed. LB Alec Ogletree (knee) is questionable and S Eddie Jackson (hamstring) is doubtful. Ogletree missed practice all week and doesn't look like a good bet. If he sits, Danny Trevathan would get the start in his place. Jackson's expected absence makes DeAndre Houston-Carson a good IDP option.
The Bears have activated LB Danny Trevathan from IR. The veteran has been there since the start of the season for a knee injury. Alec Ogletree has been playing in his absence and might not relinquish the job. DC Sean Desai said this week, per SI.com: "Those kind of things will be decided on a game-to-game basis." We’ll stick with projecting Ogletree as the starter for this week, though there’s clearly more risk to his role now
The Bears have downgraded LB Roquan Smith (elbow) to OUT for Sunday's game against the Saints. That leaves no clear full-time replacement behind him. It likely means full or near-full playing time for LB Danny Trevathan, though, making him a better IDP option.
Bears ILB Danny Trevathan left Sunday's win over the Lions in the 1st half with a nasty left elbow injury that put his arm in a sling. ESPN's Jeff Dickerson reports that HC Matt Nagy said the team wouldn't know the extent of the injury for "a couple days." Trevathan will have an MRI Monday. Nick Kwiatkoski filled in for Trevathan and would take over the starting spot should Trevathan miss further time.
Bears S Adrian Amos is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Niners with a hamstring injury. Make other plans for your IDP lineup, if you haven't already. On the positive side, ILB Danny Trevathan finished the week not even listed on the injury report. He's ready to return after losing 3 games to a calf injury.
Bears LB Danny Trevathan put in a limited practice Wednesday for the 1st time since the team's Week 9 bye. That obviously bodes well for a return to action from the calf injury that has cost him 3 games, though we'll continue to watch his status through the week.
Bears ILB Danny Trevathan (calf) is inactive for the 2nd straight game. He has yet to return to practice since the Week 9 bye. Christian Jones and Nick Kwiatkoski will start inside again for the Bears. Both are IDP options.
Bears ILB Danny Trevathan is questionable for Sunday's game against the Lions with the calf injury that kept him out last week. Trevathan still has yet to practice since suffering the injury, making him look like a weak bet for Sunday. We knocked him down the LB rankings.
Bears ILB Danny Trevathan is inactive for today's game against the Packers because of a calf injury. That leaves Christian Jones as the lead ILB in an upside matchup. Expect Nick Kwiatkoski to start in Trevathan's place. He's a fringe IDP option for deeper leagues as well.
Bears ILB Danny Trevathan is questionable for Sunday's game against the Packers with a calf injury. He missed the whole week of practice, despite having the bye following the last game he played. That makes Trevathan look like a risky IDP option for this week. We'll update his status Sunday.
Bears LB Danny Trevathan missed Wednesday's practice with a calf strain. It's good to finally get word on his situation after HC John Fox started the week playing coy. We've moved Trevathan down the Week 10 LB rankings but still have him in LB1 territory. We'll obviously keep an eye on his status throughout the week.
The Bears returned to the practice field Monday after their Week 9 bye, but they did so without ILB Danny Trevathan. HC John Fox refused to say, however, why his veteran LB didn't practice. He said there wouldn't be any updates until Wednesday, according to ESPN's Jeff Dickerson. Trevathan also missed the team's workout before players were dismissed for the bye, but he played 60 of 61 snaps in the Week 8 loss to New Orleans. We'll keep an eye on Trevathan's status the rest of the way for IDP purposes.
Bears ILB Danny Trevathan had his suspension reduced Tuesday from 2 games to 1. The league disciplined him for a hit on Packers WR Davante Adams last Thursday that drew a personal-foul call but didn't get Trevathan ejected. It's the 2nd league suspension trimmed this season under still-evolving rules on illegal hits. Bengals OLB Vontaze Burfict saw a 5-game ban cut to 3 at the start of the season. Trevathan will be the top IDP LB in Chicago again after he sits out this Monday night's matchup with Minnesota.
