The NFL has suspended Bears ILB Danny Trevathan 2 games for his controversial hit that knocked Packers WR Davante Adams out of Thursday night's game. Trevathan now has until the end of Wednesday to file an appeal. We'll see how the situation plays out.

The Bears have placed ILB Danny Trevathan on IR after he ruptured the patellar tendon in his right knee Sunday. The injury is, at least, to the opposite leg from the knee that Trevathan had reconstructed while a Bronco 2 years ago. Then, the LB suffered 2 fractures and a dislocated kneecap in his left leg. We'll see how this recovery goes in the offseason, but it's the kind of injury that could keep him off the field into next year. According to ESPN's Jeff Dickerson, the Bears are expected to play LB John Timu next to ILB Nick Kwiatkoski, who stepped into the lineup against the Titans in place of suspended LB Jerrell Freeman. We'll see what Timu can do, but he'll need to prove value before you should consider him at IDP option. Kwiatkoski's an option ahead of Timu but also needs to prove he can approach the value of either veteran the young duo is replacing. Expect the Bears to present a nice rushing matchup for opposing RBs the rest of the way.

Bears LB Danny Trevathan left Sunday's loss to the Titans with a right knee injury. HC John Fox didn't have specifics on it after the game but said it looked "real serious," according to ESPN's Jeff Dickerson. The obvious implication here is a season-ending injury. We'll see what the team announces Sunday night or Monday. Chicago started Nick Kwiatkoski next to Trevathan on Sunday, the 1st game of LB Jerrell Freeman's 4-game PED suspension. He tallied just 4 tackles (2 solo) as only 1 Bear reached 6 and none surpassed that number. Kwiatkoski's a potential pickup here for deep IDP leagues, but don't look for significant value from Bears ILBs the rest of the way. We could see more tackles available for a stronger OLB group and the DBs.

The Bears announced Monday that the league has suspended LB Jerrell Freeman 4 games for violating the PED policy. That takes a top-10 fantasy LB out of many IDP lineups and leaves LB Danny Trevathan as the defense's best bet for tackles. Trevathan's coming off 2 straight games of 9 solos and 11+ total stops. Freeman's safe to drop for another option, as he'll only return for weeks 16 and 17.

Bears LB Danny Trevathan is active for today's game against the Colts, marking his return from a thumb fracture he suffered in Week 2. He's a solid IDP option vs. Indy but will be playing his 1st game with a club on the repaired hand. We'll have to see how that affects his tackling and pass coverage.

QB Jay Cutler wasn't the only Bear to hurt his thumb Monday night. The Chicago Tribune reports that LB Danny Trevathan will have thumb surgery Wednesday morning. There's no word on a timetable for his return. The Tribune story says only that the team will not put Trevathan on IR. That intimates he will miss some time, though. Trevathan's absence can only further boost Jerrell Freeman's already high tackle ceiling for IDP owners. We'll await further word on Trevathan's outlook.

He'll finish the year on IR. We'll see how Denver sorts out its LB group next year after Brandon Marshall's breakout season. Marshall will be an exclusive rights free agent in March, meaning he'll only hit the open market if Denver decides not to offer him anything. (Fat chance.) As for Marshall's 2014 status, The Denver Post reports that he expects to miss 1-2 weeks. That means you should treat him as being done for the season in your IDP league. Don't look to the Broncos reserves for a fantasy replacement. Their myriad LB injuries have left the group without further proven options.

Broncos LB Brandon Marshall reportedly suffered a mid-foot sprain in Sunday's game against the Chargers. The team has not announced an expected timeline for his recovery, but you should plan to not have Marshall available for your IDP lineup this weekend. Teammate Danny Trevathan also hurt his already twice-injured knee in the game, so we'll see if he'll even be available to fill in. You'll be best off looking elsewhere for Week 16 help, though.

Broncos LBs Brandon Marshall and Danny Trevathan each left Sunday's game at San Diego early with injuries. Marshall hurt his right foot and left the stadium in a walking boot. X-rays came back negative, but he's due for a Monday MRI. Trevathan left favoring the same left knee area he has already injured 2 separate times this year. "It felt like it got hyperextended," Trevathan told The Denver Post. "I feel good, though. Not the same as I did when I hurt it before." He'll have an MRI on Monday as well. We'll see what the damage is on both players after those results come in. Marshall would be a significant loss for IDP owners heading into their league finals next weekend.

The Broncos on Tuesday placed LB Danny Trevathan on IR with the designation to return.  That means he'll be eligible to return to the practice field in 6 weeks (Nov. 26) and to play in a game 2 weeks after that.  The timeframe means you can drop him in any non-dynasty IDP league.  Look for LB Brandon Marshall to jump back into the top 30 when we update our Rest of the Way rankings Wednesday.
