The Lions will release OLB DeAndre Levy, according to multiple reports. Levy appeared in just 6 total games over the past 2 years while dealing with multiple lower-body injuries. He'll turn 30 this month, but we'd bet on him getting another shot at a greatly reduced salary.

Lions OLB DeAndre Levy (knee) is active for Monday night's game against the Cowboys. He posted 8 solo tackles last week and should be a decent option for IDP owners who have waited for him.

Lions DE Ezekiel Ansah (shoulder) and OLB DeAndre Levy (knee) are active for today's game against the Giants. Having them in the lineup certainly helps the defense overall, but neither looks like a good IDP choice. Ansah is still chasing his 1st sack of the season, and the Giants have yielded the 5th lowest sack rate to date. Levy has returned to a part-time role after missing most of the year.

Lions DE Ezekiel Ansah (shoulder) and LB DeAndre Levy (knee) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants. Ansah put in limited practices Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday's workout. Levy put in limited practices all week and played through the issue last time out. He's playing a limited role, however, and shouldn't be in IDP lineups at this point. We'll update the status for each on Sunday.

Lions DE Ezekiel Ansah (ankle), OLB DeAndre Levy (knee) and MLB Tahir Whitehead (knee) are active for today's game against the Bears. It'll be just Levy's 2nd appearance this season, and he's not expected to play a full role. Whitehead returns after missing last week. His tackle upside makes him worth any added durability risk for IDP lineups. Ansah has been playing through "questionable" tags for weeks.

Lions DE Ezekiel Ansah (ankle), OLB DeAndre Levy (knee) and MLB Tahir Whitehead (knee) are all questionable for Sunday's game against the Bears. Ansah has been playing through his issue for weeks since missing time for it and should play. Multiple reports say Levy appears likely to play, though probably in a part-time role. Whitehead we'll keep an eye on. He put in limited practices all week after doing so last week as well, when he missed the game.

Both MLive and the Detroit Free Press say some version of "signs pointing to" Lions OLB DeAndre Levy returning to action this week. Levy has appeared in just 2 games since the start of the 2015 season while dealing with multiple lower-body injuries. We're not adding him to our Week 14 LB rankings, because it's impossible to know just how much Levy would see the field if he plays. "All indications are that he’ll be back in some sort of part-time capacity," according to the Free Press. It's a bit late in the season for IDP owners to keep fingers crossed for squeezing any value out of Levy, but we'll see what happens. His return should help a Lions D that has seemed to improve from bad to possibly OK during this season.

In addition to MLB Tahir Whitehead being out, the Lions -- as expected -- will continue to miss OLB DeAndre Levy (knee) today against the Saints. DE Ezekiel Ansah (ankle) is active, however, after entering the day questionable. He's fine for normal use but doesn't make for a good IDP option against a Saints offense that allows few sacks.

Lions DE Ezekiel Ansah (ankle), MLB Tahir Whitehead (knee) and OLB DeAndre Levy (knee) are all questionable for Sunday's game in New Orleans. Ansah is expected to play, according to the Detroit Free Press, and has been playing through the issue for a while. Whitehead put in limited workouts all week, so we'll check on his status Sunday. Levy's expected to sit again, according to the Free Press.

Lions LB DeAndre Levy practiced Wednesday (limited) for the 1st time since Week 1. He has been sidelined since then with quad and knee injuries. We'll see if Levy's ready for any action this Sunday against the Jaguars, but we'd certainly expect his role to be limited if he played at all. A healthy Levy has top-10 fantasy scoring potential at his position. We'll see if we get anything close to that again this season.

The Lions have officially ruled out LB DeAndre Levy (quad) and DE Ezekiel Ansah (ankle) for Week 4. DE Devin Taylor (ankle) is questionable but put in limited practices all week and played through a questionable tag in Week 3. We'd bet on him playing against the Bears on Sunday. S Tavon Wilson (neck) is also questionable after putting in limited practices all week. We'll check on his status Sunday morning.

The Lions practiced without OLB DeAndre Levy (quad) and DE Ezekiel Ansah (ankle) on Wednesday. Levy has missed the past 2 games, while Ansah sat out Week 3. Neither looks like a particularly good bet for Week 4, though we'll see if Levy can make it back to the field. Ansah's high ankle sprain has figured to be a multiple-week injury. DE Devin Taylor (ankle) and S Tavon Wilson (neck) were limited Wednesday but seem likely to play Sunday. Taylor played through his ankle issue in Week 3.

The Lions on Friday ruled out DE Ezekiel Ansah (high ankle sprain) for Sunday's game against the Packers. That comes as no surprise after the week he had. OLB DeAndre Levy (quad) is also doubtful for the game. He hasn't practiced since Week 1 and missed last Sunday's game against the Titans.

Lions OLB DeAndre Levy (quad) has missed the 1st 2 days of practice this week after sitting out Sunday's loss to the Titans. We'll see about his game status against Green Bay, but you should not plan on using him in your Week 3 IDP lineup.

Lions OLB DeAndre Levy is inactive for today's game against the Titans with a quad injury. His absence raises the tackle ceiling for MLB Tahir Whitehead.

Lions LB DeAndre Levy will likely miss Sunday's game against the Titans because of a quad injury. He's officially doubtful after sitting out practice all week. It's a particularly disappointing (early) development for a player who missed basically all of last season with a hip injury. Levy's absence can only help the tackle upside of MLB Tahir Whitehead, while it hurts the Lions D overall.

The Lions have removed OLB DeAndre Levy from the active/non-football injury list. He opened camp on the list with an unspecified injury but has said that he expects to return to pre-2015 form. We wouldn't bet on him playing in Detroit's 2nd preseason game this Thursday but will be quite interested to see Levy in the 3rd exhibition. A healthy Levy has upside into the top 5 among fantasy LBs.

Lions OLB DeAndre Levy told the Detroit Free Press this week that he expects to be the same player this season that he was before his summer 2015 hip injury. But he also has yet to practice since the start of training camp this year because of an unspecified injury. When reporters asked him about rumors of a knee injury, Levy waved it off and said he expects to return to the field "soon." We've bumped Levy down the rankings until we see him upon return.
