Titans TE Delanie Walker (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday.  That's not a good start in his quest to get fully cleared ahead of this weekend's game against the Broncos.  We'll have another update on Walker tomorrow.

Titans TE Delanie Walker suffered a head injury in the 1st half of Sunday's game.  He'll be tested for a concussion and is unlikely to return.  He caught 1 ball for 5 yards before exiting.

Titans TE Delanie Walker (toe) is active for today's game against the Jets.  He's not a recommended fantasy starter.

Titans TE Delanie Walker (toe) returned to a limited practice on Friday after sitting out the previous 2 days.  He’s listed as questionable but is expected to play against the Jets this weekend.  With a 9-99-1 line through 3 weeks, he’s just a desperation fantasy option.

The Tennessean reports that the Titans plan to activate TE Delanie Walker off the PUP list this week.  Walker has missed all of camp so far with a knee injury.  He still won't play in the team's 3rd preseason game, but HC Mike Munchak said Walker could get 12-15 snaps with the starters in the 4th contest.  He signed with the Titans as a free agent after TE Jared Cook left for St. Louis.  Walker's absence, however, has made it difficult to project the size of his receiving role.  Walker isn't a fantasy football option in any but the deepest of leagues so far.

Titans TE Delanie Walker has yet to get back on the field after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery last month.  The team reportedly "hopes" Walker will return to practice next week, but there's a chance that he doesn't play at all this preseason.  That's a major concern for a guy on a new team. Walker wasn't an exciting fantasy option to begin with.  We don't consider him an option at all right now.

Titans TE Delaine Walker (knee scope) will begin training camp on the PUP list.  Team insider Jim Wyatt says “indications” are Walker will play in the preseason, but only after he makes a full recovery.  The career-long backup was always a poor bet to produce solid TE2 numbers.

New Titans TE Delanie Walker is excited about the prospect of getting full starter's reps in Tennessee. “When I was with the Niners, I played 70 percent of the time,” Walker said. “Being here and having the ability to play 100 percent of the time, I think I fit into that role.” Walker went on to add that he hopes to get “70 catches and go from there.” That seems pretty far-fetched considering he's never topped 29 in a season. He also needs to work on his hands after a 30% drop rate last season – worst among TEs. Walker carries more upside with the Titans than he did in San Francisco, but we aren't endorsing him as fantasy starter in 2013.

Titans TE Delanie Walker dropped 9 of 30 catchable balls as a 49er last year.  That 30% catch rate was tops at the position.  But the Titans aren't overly concerned.  “It’s not his hands as much as it is the concentration,” OC Dowell Loggains said. “He’s got great speed and he’s been trying to run before he catches the ball. So it’s just about looking the ball in, and I think that (TEs coach) George Henshaw has done a great job with him on concentrating on that aspect of the game.”  Walker dropped just 8 balls total from 2008-2011, so we'll give him a mulligan for last season.  The bigger issue in Tennessee figures to be targets.  It'll be a run-first offense, and the WR corps is deep with Kenny Britt, Kendall Wright and rookie Justin Hunter.  TE Jared Cook, who's more talented than Walker, never saw more than 81 targets in his 4 seasons with the Titans.  We wouldn't bet on Walker hitting that mark, which will leave him short of fantasy-starter value.

The Titans have signed TE Delanie Walker to a 4-year deal.  We've always been intrigued by Walker's ability, but he's been stuck behind Vernon Davis in San Fran.  With Jared Cook having one foot out the door, Walker will take over as Tennessee's starting TE.  He's not as talented as Cook, though, who could never emerge as a consistent fantasy option with the Titans.  That makes it tough to get excited about Walker's outlook.

49ers TE Vernon Davis (concussion) was unable to practice on Wednesday.  It'd be an upset if he's cleared in time for this weekend's game against the Cardinals.  If VD is out, Delanie Walker could see a few more targets.

49ers beat writer Matt Maiocco singled out TE Delanie Walker as the guy who could benefit most from new HC Jim Harbaugh's passing attack.  "The 49ers should do a much better job of isolating Walker in mismatches," Maiocco writes.  We know that Harbaugh runs a TE-friendly offense.  And Walker has plenty of ability as a former college WR.  But as long as TE Vernon Davis is around, we can't see Walker getting enough targets to be anything more than a low-end TE2 in fantasy.
