DeMarcus Ware Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Broncos LB Brandon Marshall (hamstring) is out for today's game against the Chargers. That should help the tackle upside for ILB Todd Davis, though he's not a special IDP option. Losing Marshall doesn't alter the team-D outlook for Denver, which does get OLB DeMarcus Ware back after 5 games down for a forearm fracture.

Broncos OLB DeMarcus Ware will have surgery Tuesday to repair a fractured right forearm and is expected to miss 4-5 weeks, according to ESPN's Jeff Legwold. Ware's not a big-time IDP prospect at this point, but losing him dings the Denver team D a bit. We'll see how well 2nd-year man Shane Ray can fill in.

Broncos OLB DeMarcus Ware expects to play Sunday against the Raiders but in a limited role. “I think you live and learn from the mistakes sometimes that you make of just going out there if you have an injury and trying to be full-blast instead of gradually getting back into the mix of things,” Ware said Thursday, according to Pro Football Talk. “That’s what we’ve done. Now my back is feeling good and now it’s saying we’re not going to put a workload on you, but get better acclimated to playing a little bit of football.” Ware's capable of delivering pass-rush value in limited action, but the role makes him a weak stat bet for IDP owners this weekend, especially against an Oakland offense with the league's 3rd-lowest sack rate.

The Broncos have ruled out OLB DeMarcus Ware (back) and S T.J. Ward (ankle) for Sunday's game at San Diego. Missing Ware hurts the team D worse than Ward's absence, but we'd still use the Denver D in fantasy this week.

Broncos OLB DeMarcus Ware (back) returned to practice Wednesday for the 1st time since getting hurt in the loss at Indy. The Denver Post reports that he had "little limitations" in the open portion of the workout. Getting Ware back after he missed the past 3 games would certainly help a Broncos D that has not delivered for fantasy owners in recent weeks the way that it did early in the season. We'll keep an eye on his status this week.

The Broncos have ruled OLB DeMarcus Ware out for Sunday's game against the Patriots with the back injury that has cost him the past 2 games. That should keep OLB Shaq Barrett starting in his place.

The Broncos have ruled OLB DeMarcus Ware out for Sunday's game at Chicago. Ware aggravated a back injury 2 weeks ago at Indy and then missed last Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. Denver has totaled just 3 sacks over the past 2 games after tallying 3+ in each of the previous 6 contests.

Broncos OLB DeMarcus Ware said he expects to miss 1-2 games after aggravating his back injury in Sunday's loss to the Colts, according to Bleacher Report's Jason Cole. That'll give OLB Shaq Barrett another chance (or more) to start in Ware's place. The 2nd-year man enjoyed a huge game -- 9 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble and 1 pass deflection -- when Ware missed the Week 6 trip to Cleveland.

Broncos OLB DeMarcus Ware left Sunday's loss to the Colts early with a back injury. He previously hurt his back against Oakland and missed the next game before a Week 7 bye. We'll see how significant the issue is this time.

The Broncos have deemed OLB DeMarcus Ware probable for Sunday's game against the Packers. Ware sat out Week 6 with a back injury before Denver's bye but practiced without setbacks this week. He's a solid play in sack-friendly IDP scoring systems against a Green Bay offense that has struggled compared to its previous standards in recent weeks. Ware registered sacks in the season's 1st 4 games before suffering his injury in Week 5.

Broncos OLB DeMarcus Ware took part in practice Monday as his team came off the Week 7 bye. He missed Week 6 with a back injury but "moved extremely well" Monday, according to The Denver Post. We'll keep an eye on Ware's status updates later this week, but he seems on track to play Sunday night against the Packers. That can only help the Denver defense, as Ware opened the season with sacks in 4 straight games (4.5 total) before getting hurt in Week 5.

The Broncos have ruled out OLB DeMarcus Ware for Sunday's game at Cleveland. He had reportedly been making progress with the back injury that knocked him out of the Oakland game early but apparently isn't yet ready to play. Ware's absence knocks the Denver defense's upside a bit, but the Broncos still carry plenty of fantasy value against the Browns. IDP owners obviously need to look elsewhere for an LB. Shaq Barrett will start in Ware's spot for the Broncos.

The Broncos expect OLB DeMarcus Ware to miss about 2 weeks after suffering a back strain in the win over Oakland, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That should mean more playing time for rookie Shane Ray, who has seen about a quarter of the defensive snaps so far. Fellow rookie Shaq Barrett might see more time as well.

Broncos OLB DeMarcus Ware left Sunday's win over the Raiders with a back injury, but it doesn't seem serious. Pro Football Talk reports that sources referred to it as a "strain" and "spasms." We'll see what else the Broncos say this week, but we'd bet on Ware being available next Sunday at Cleveland.

Former Cowboys DE DeMarcus Ware has reached a 3-year, $30 million deal with the Broncos.  It reportedly includes $20 million in guaranteed money, a tremendous sum for a guy Dallas dumped earlier this week.  Ware missed 3 games and saw his production drop last year while he dealt with multiple injuries, but he still performed well when on the field.  Heading into his age-32 season, Ware certainly upgrades the Broncos' pass rush.  The money says we should continue to treat him as a starter when we put together our 2014 IDP rankings.

The Cowboys released DE DeMarcus Ware on Tuesday afternoon.  The possibility has long been rumored, but many expected the team to keep Ware around.  Injuries limited the 31-year-old to 69.1% of Dallas' defensive snaps in 2013, but Pro Football Focus still rated Ware the league's 8th best 4-3 DE.  Ware might need a few more snaps off than he used to, but he went 8 years without missing a game before sitting out 3 last season.  He should still make another team very happy and could show up as a sleeper in our 2014 IDP rankings.  Dallas, meanwhile, loses arguably the best pass-rusher of his generation from an already bad defense.

Cowboys DE DeMarcus Ware is questionable for Sunday night's clash with the Eagles after missing Friday's practice because of his ailing left elbow and sore back.  "I'm playing, that's all you need to know," Ware said Friday, according to ESPN.com.  IDP owners should look elsewhere anyway.  Ware's various health issues have finally caught up with him and inhibited his performance this year.

Cowboys DE DeMarcus Ware said Thursday the extra rest after playing Thanksgiving Day has allowed his ailing right leg to get stronger.  “I was doing a lot of moves I usually don’t do,” Ware said, per ESPN.com. “I was doing them in practice, feeling really confident in it. I’ve got my strength back, so I’m happy about that.”  Ware remains a risky upside play in your IDP league, but his ceiling also remains high.
