But the changes to the secondary -- and lack of moves to date at LB -- could boost the fantasy outlook for S Cole Bishop.

The Bills won't have LB Matt Milano (pectoral) or DT Ed Oliver (ankle) for Thursday night's game against the Dolphins. Both have been ruled out. CB Taron Johnson (quad) is questionable after limited practices all week. Johnson sounds like he'll be ready to play.

We'd be surprised if he plays, though, eight days after sustaining a concussion in the loss to the Bengals. Bernard didn't advance past limited practice this week and hadn't cleared the protocol as of Saturday. He'd need to do so ahead of the early Sunday games to be a viable IDP option. Assuming Bernard sits, Tyrel Dodson would be the top LB option among Bills. He has ranked highest among Buffalo LBs in our Week 10 rankings. Rookie Dorian Williams will likely run second but isn't a real IDP option.

The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia reports that Bernard left Thursday's practice with a hamstring injury. That's likely to keep Bernard out of Saturday night's exhibition opener, which could give Dodson an early advantage. It's also noteworthy that third-round rookie Dorian Williams is not in on this competition.
