The Raiders have released RB Doug Martin. If you needed confirmation that rookie Josh Jacobs will dominate early-down work in Oakland's backfield this season, here it is. The only question left is how much pass-catching work Jacobs will cede to RB Jalen Richard.

The Raiders have re-signed RB Doug Martin. The move is clearly a direct reaction to Isaiah Crowell's Achilles tear. Martin averaged a respectable 4.2 yards per carry on 172 totes for Oakland last year but ranked just 30th out of 47 RBs with 100+ carries in Pro Football Focus' Elusive Rating. Martin is veteran insurance in case rookie Josh Jacobs stumbles.

The Raiders have signed RB Isaiah Crowell to a 1-year contract. Crowell averaged 4.8 yards per carry in a wildly inconsistent 2018 with the Jets. He delivered 219 yards in a win over the Dolphins and racked up 102 and 2 TDs on just 10 carries in the surprise opening blowout win at Detroit. But Crowell cracked 50 yards just 1 other time and tallied only 143 rushing attempts (plus 21 catches) for the season. His arrival in Oakland likely means unrestricted free agent Doug Martin is done there. Marshawn Lynch isn't expected to decide until after the NFL Draft whether he'll return for another season. RBs Jalen Richard and Chris Warren remain on the roster. HC Jon Gruden has compared Richard to former RB Charlie Garner, which indicates he'll maintain a significant role. Warren spent his rookie season on IR after a flashy preseason. This backfield figures to see further changes before we can project its 2019 touch splits.

The Raiders have released RB C.J. Anderson. OK then. Anderson lasted a week in Oakland and didn't play in a game. Doug Martin remains locked in as the Raiders' lead ball-carrier the rest of the way.

Raiders RB Doug Martin (knee) is active for today’s game against the Steelers. Newly signed RB C.J. Anderson is a healthy scratch. Martin should continue to serve as Oakland’s lead back but is just a RB3 vs. Pittsburgh’s tough run defense.

The Raiders expect RB Doug Martin (knee) to play through his questionable tag in today's game against the Steelers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Martin's not an attractive play, but he has at least averaged 57.7 rushing yards and 74.5 total yards over the past 6 weeks since taking over the job.

Raiders RB Doug Martin (knee) is not listed on the final Week 14 injury report after a full week of practice. He’s a low-end RB3 option vs. a tough Steelers run defense.

Raiders HC Jon Gruden revealed Wednesday that RB Doug Martin has a knee injury and is "uncertain" for this weekend's game against the Steelers. We'll keep an eye on him over the next few days. Oakland just signed RB C.J. Anderson, who would figure to form a committee with Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington if Martin can't go. This is a situation to avoid against a tough Pittsburgh run defense.

The Raiders have signed RB C.J. Anderson. The 27-year-old was stuck behind Christian McCaffrey in Carolina, carrying just 24 times in 9 appearances. He averaged a decent 4.3 yards per carry. Oakland probably wants to see what Anderson has left in the tank and if he can help in 2019 and beyond. Don't be surprised if he steals a handful of carries per game from Doug Martin.

Raiders HC Jon Gruden referred to Doug Martin as his "feature back." It sounds like the plan is to slide Martin right into RB Marshawn Lynch's role. Lynch averaged 15 carries over the season's first 6 games. Martin might not reach that territory, but he's the clear favorite for carries in Oakland going forward. RB Jalen Richard will continue to handle pass-catching work.

The Raiders have placed RB Marshawn Lynch (groin) on IR. That knocks him out for at least 8 weeks, meaning Week 16 would be the earliest he could return. Lynch is obviously droppable in all fantasy leagues. The tanking Raiders will move forward with a Doug Martin and Jalen Richard backfield. Neither is more than a RB3, with Martin the better bet in non-PPR and Richard in PPR.

Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch will miss "at least" a month with a groin injury, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Rapoport adds that IR is a "strong possibility," which could cost Lynch 8 weeks. We'd try to keep him stashed for now considering the lack of viable fantasy RBs out there, but Lynch is droppable in shallow-bench leagues. His absence will leave the backfield in the hands of Doug Martin and Jalen Richard. Martin seems like the favorite for carries, with Richard dominating passing-game work. Neither is a particularly exciting fantasy add in a scuffling Raiders offense.

Raiders HC Jon Gruden said Tuesday that he's "concerned" about RB Marshawn Lynch's groin strain. Lynch is getting the issue checked out during the bye week. He's been on the injury report every week this season with hip, shoulder and groin issues, but this is a new injury. We'll update his status when we learn more. Doug Martin would likely step in as Oakland's ball-carrier if Lynch misses time.

The Raiders have signed RB Doug Martin to a 1-year deal. We'll see what this means for RB Marshawn Lynch's tenure in Oakland, but the Raiders certainly shouldn't be banking on Martin as their answer in the backfield. He's 29 now and coming off 2 straight seasons of 2.9 yards per carry. In fact, Martin has failed to reach 3.8 yards per carry in 4 of 6 NFL seasons. Don't consider him more than a RB5 in early best-ball drafts.

The Bucs have released RB Doug Martin. The move was fully expected after Martin bombed in 2017, averaging 2.9 yards per carry across 11 appearances. He was set to count $6.75 against the 2018 salary cap. Martin turned 29 in January and has had 2 straight seasons marred by injuries, suspension and poor production. He figures to settle for a 1-year, prove-it deal on the open market and certainly isn't a lock to be a 2018 fantasy factor. The Bucs will be in the mix for a RB or 2 in free agency and/or the draft.

Bucs RB Doug Martin is active for today's game against the Panthers after being a healthy scratch last week. It's unclear how Tampa will divvy carries, but our guess is that RB Peyton Barber will lead the way. It's a backfield to avoid in fantasy lineups vs. Carolina's 3rd-ranked RB defense.

Bucs RB Doug Martin is a healthy scratch for tonight's game against the Falcons. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that Martin is being punished for missing a team meeting and is expected to play the final 2 games of the season. Peyton Barber will serve as Tampa's lead back tonight.
