Bears WR Eddie Royal (knee) is questionable for this weekend’s game against the Lions. He put in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. Royal would be tough to trust in fantasy lineups at less than 100%.

Bears WR Eddie Royal (knee) is inactive for today's game against the Chiefs.  With WR Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) also out, Marquess Wilson is left as Chicago's #1 WR.  He's a viable WR3 vs. the league's 32nd-ranked WR defense.  TE Martellus Bennett should also see a bunch of targets.

Bears WR Eddie Royal missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday with an ankle injury.  The team hasn't given us any info on the severity, but Royal never left last week's game.  We'll have another update on his status after Friday's practice.

Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) is not expected to play in Sunday's game against the Raiders, per ESPN's Jeff Dickerson.  That hammy didn't respond well in practice this week.  Jeffery's absence again leaves Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson as Chicago's top 2 WRs.  Neither is an enticing fantasy play.  Look for Martellus Bennett to lead the way in targets vs. an Oakland defense that hasn't stopped a TE yet.

Update: Jeffery is officially listed as questionable, but don't count on him playing.

Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.  It's probably best for fantasy owners considering Jeffery would have been operating at less than 100% in a brutal matchup.  We'll see if he can get back on the practice field next week.  WR Eddie Royal and TE Martellus Bennett figure to lead the Bears in targets on Sunday, but neither carries much upside.

Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) won't play against the Cardinals today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.  Jeffery injured his hammy in practice this week after missing most of training camp with a calf issue.  The "hope" is that he'll be back to 100% for Week 3.  Meanwhile, Chicago is left with Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson as its top 2 WRs today.  Those guys, plus TE Martellus Bennett and RB Matt Forte, figure to divvy up Jeffery's targets.

Bears WR Eddie Royal landed head-first after an incomplete pass late in the 2nd quarter against the Packers. He left the field with his helmet off, likely headed for a concussion evaluation. We'll keep an eye out for updates. He had been the lead receiver in terms of playing time for Chicago to that point.

The Bears listed WR Eddie Royal (hip) as questionable for Sunday's game against the Packers.  He was limited in practice this week, but most signs point to him playing in the opener.  Royal is a low-end WR3 in PPR leagues but will get a boost if WR Alshon Jeffery (calf) is out this weekend.

Bears WR Kevin White will undergo surgery on his troublesome shin, GM Ryan Pace announced on Saturday.  The rookie will have a rod inserted into his tibia to address a stress fracture he suffered in OTAs.  White had been rehabbing the injury but had a setback this week, per ESPN's Josina Anderson.  He'll be placed on the PUP list, which will cost him at least the first 6 games of the regular season.  And there's reportedly a chance that White doesn't play at all this year.  He's not worth rostering in redraft leagues.  The big fantasy winner here is WR Eddie Royal, who's had a strong offseason and is now the favorite for #2 WR duties.  WR Marquess Wilson will also see more playing time, but we'll need to see more from him before considering him a viable fantasy option.

Bears OC Adam Gase compared WR Eddie Royal to Wes Welker. Gase coached both players in Denver. "Eddie's got a special explosiveness that a lot of inside guys don't have," Gase said. "Eddie is a threat at all three levels. He can come underneath. He can break out intermediate. And he can get down the field." Royal’s drawn rave reviews all offseason, building up his prospects as a late round PPR pick. Rookie WR Kevin White’s recent shin injury is only helping the veteran’s case for early-season fantasy relevance. Consider the 29-year-old a viable WR5.

Bears WR Kevin White (shin) has been placed on the active/PUP list to begin training camp.  He suffered the injury late in OTAs and has been off his feet for the past month, GM Ryan Pace said.  There's no timetable for White's return to the field.  It's not an ideal scenario for a somewhat-raw rookie WR who's expected to play a significant role this season.  White's absence opens the door for WRs Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson to earn more playing time.

Bears QB Jay Cutler and WR Eddie Royal are working to rekindle the chemistry that helped both to career years back in 2008.  Cutler racked up a personal-best 4,526 yards to go along with 25 TDs that season.  Rookie Royal hauled in 91 balls for 980 yards and 5 TDs, finishing 16th among WRs in PPR points.  Royal saw 129 targets that year -- a number he won't sniff with Alshon Jeffery, Martellus Bennett and Matt Forte in his huddle.  But rookie WR Kevin White is off to a slow start.  And if he continues to struggle, Royal could play a bigger role than anticipated.  He's a nice end-game target in fantasy football drafts.

Per multiple reports, WR Eddie Royal has reached a deal with the Bears. Royal's coming off the 2nd most productive season of his career and caught 15 TD passes for the Chargers over his past 2 seasons. Although Chicago presents immediate target opportunity, don't expect Royal to remain that much of a scoring threat. Many of his TDs in San Diego came by way of red-zone scheming. If the Bears don't add another outside threat, Royal could make sense in WR5 range for 2015 fantasy football drafts. But he might also wind up 3rd on his own team in WR points behind Alshon Jeffery and Marquess Wilson.

Chargers WR Keenan Allen (collarbone) is inactive. Malcom Floyd and Eddie Royal will serve as the top 2 WRs vs. Kansas City’s 10^th-ranked WR defense.
