Chargers WR Keenan Allen (collarbone) did not practice on Tuesday.  He supposedly has a shot to play this weekend -- just 2 weeks after breaking his collarbone.  We wouldn't bet on that, though.  If Allen can't play against the Chiefs, Malcom Floyd and Eddie Royal will serve as San Diego's top 2 WRs.

Chargers WR Keenan Allen suffered a broken collarbone (in addition to an ankle injury) in Sunday's loss to the Broncos, according to Chargers.com's Ricky Henne.  The injury will almost certainly send Allen to IR.  He'll finish his 2nd season with a solid 77 catches in 14 games, but a disappointing 10.4 yards per catch and 4 total TDs.  Allen's absence will leave San Diego with Malcom Floyd, Eddie Royal and Seyi Ajirotutu at WR.  Floyd will be the best fantasy bet the rest of the way, but Royal could see the biggest bump in value.  He, like Allen, runs a lot of routes near the line of scrimmage.  TE Antonio Gates could also see a few extra targets.

Update: Insider Michael Gehlken reports that surgery is not currently planned on Allen's collarbone and that he's not an IR candidate.  San Diego is likely hoping to get him back for the playoffs.  He won't play against the 49ers on Saturday, though, and is an extreme long shot to play Week 17.

As expected, Chargers WR Eddie Royal (elbow) is active for today's game against the Chiefs.  He's a WR3 flier in fantasy.

Chargers WR Eddie Royal (ribs) was on the field for practice on Wednesday.  It looks like he'll be able to play through the rib injury he suffered last week.  As always, Royal will be a boom-or-bust WR3 for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.

Chargers WR Eddie Royal (chest, toe) is active for today's game against the Giants.  He's not a fantasy option, but his return might mean fewer snaps for TE Ladarius Green.  The potential 2014 breakout star is a classic risk/reward fantasy play today.

Chargers WR Eddie Royal (chest, toe) is a game-time decision for Sunday’s tilt with the Giants.  Royal isn’t a recommended fantasy play, but his absence would be good news for TE Ladarius Green.  He played a season-high 91% of the offensive snaps with Royal out last week.  He hadn’t previously topped 40%.  Green will be a safer fantasy play if Royal sits, but he has plenty of upside regardless.

Chargers WR Eddie Royal (toe, chest) has been downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's game against the Bengals.  He's been playing through that toe injury for a few weeks, so it's likely the chest issue that will keep him out this weekend.  Seyi Ajirotutu will join Keenan Allen and Vincent Brown in 3-WR sets but isn't a fantasy option.

Chargers WR Eddie Royal (toe) is active for today’s game against the Redskins.  He didn’t practice all week, but remember that he didn’t practice before going for 69 yards and a TD in San Diego’s last game.  Royal is a viable bye-week option in today’s plus matchup.

Chargers WR Eddie Royal (toe) is listed as questionable after sitting out practice all week.  He was in the same boat for San Diego's last game but ended up playing and posting a 4-69-1 line.  We're expecting Royal to play against the Redskins on Sunday, but he's just a flier in fantasy.

Chargers WR Eddie Royal (toe) did not practice on Wednesday.  He never returned to Monday night's game after suffering a 1st-half toe injury.  Royal hasn't scored or topped 42 yards since Week 2.  He's not a fantasy option.

Chargers WR Eddie Royal suffered a toe injury in the 1st half of Monday night's game.  He headed back to the locker room for evaluation.  His absence will only mean more targets for the red-hot Keenan Allen.

Chargers WR Eddie Royal suffered a bruised lung in Saturday's practice.  He's also being evaluated for a concussion.  Royal landed hard on his back during the workout and collapsed as he was heading to the locker room.  He ended up being taken to a hospital in an ambulance.  It's unclear how long Royal will be sidelined, but it's just another reason to ignore him in fantasy drafts.  Royal caught just 23 balls in 10 games last year.

Chargers WR Keenan Allen is listed with the 3rd team on the initial depth chart.  Most teams will make their rookies earn their way up the totem pole.  But Allen has been quiet early in training camp.  And he's sitting behind 1st-teamers Danario Alexander and Malcom Floyd and 2nd-teamers Eddie Royal and Vincent Brown.  Allen has a bright future as a physical, possession WR, but he's not a great bet for 2013 fantasy value.

Chargers WR Eddie Royal (groin) returned to practice on Wednesday.  He ended up missing about 3 weeks, although he resumed running a while ago.  HC Norv Turner was impressed by Royal in his first day back.  "He's playing like Eddie Royal," Turner said. "He's fast and he changes directions as quick as anyone I've been around."  Royal remains locked-in as San Diego's slot receiver and could be an asset in PPR leagues.  He was reportedly developing a nice rapport with QB Philip Rivers before being sidelined by that groin.

Chargers WR Eddie Royal will be sidelined the next 1-2 weeks with a groin injury.  It'll likely cost him the team's first preseason game.  The injury itself isn't a serious concern, but the missed practice time is.  Royal is learning a new offense and trying to carve out a role as San Diego's slot receiver.  We'll see how much action he sees in the 2nd and 3rd preseason games.
