According to Vic Lombardi of CBS 4 in Denver, Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas has re-injured his foot yet again.  It's plagued him all offseason, and it's unclear how severe this latest aggravation is.  At this point, we have to wonder if Thomas will be forced to undergo another surgery.  We'll update his status as soon as we learn more, but we just bumped him down our rankings.  It's clear Thomas won't be making an early-season impact.  WRs Jabar Gaffney and Eddie Royal benefit.

Broncos HC Josh McDaniels stressed the importance of getting the ball into the hands of 3rd-year WR Eddie Royal on Tuesday. "When we evaluated things, we came to the conclusion that we didn't do near a good enough job of getting (Royal) involved," McDaniels said. "We think he's capable of doing a lot of things in our offense." He certainly did a lot in his 2008 rookie campaign, tallying a whopping 91 receptions. He won’t come close to that this season, but Royal could be a steal in the late rounds of your draft.

Broncos HC Josh McDaniels said WR Eddie Royal has a “strong hold” on both the kick and punt return jobs. The bigger story here is what that’ll mean for his offensive role. With full-time special teams duties, the 3rd-year man is unlikely to see a major role on offense. He’s no more than a WR5 for your fantasy team.

Broncos HC Josh McDaniels is planning on deploying a WR-by-committee in 2010.  "I hope we have a lot of guys that become our No. 1 receiver at different times," McDaniels said. "We're not looking for it to be predictable or throw it to only one or two players." This is a typical tactic for a guy right out of the Bill Belichick coaching tree.  We're not real high on any of Denver's WRs this year.

Broncos WR Eddie Royal (neck) won't play this Sunday against the Eagles.  WR Jabar Gaffney will start in his place but isn't a fantasy option.

Broncos WR Eddie Royal will miss tomorrow's game against the Chiefs.  He hurt his neck two weeks ago against the Raiders.

Broncos WR Eddie Royal left in the 2nd quarter of Thursday night's game with a thigh injury and did not return.  It didn't look serious, and Royal was seen riding a stationary bike on the sidelines in the 2nd half.

Broncos WR Eddie Royal won't be handling kick or punt return duties this season.  This bodes well for his involvement in the offense.  He's building a nice rapport with QB Kyle Orton as WR Brandon Marshall continues to miss time.  We're adding a few more catches to Royal's projections as he plays a Wes Welker-type role in McDaniels' offense.

According to the Denver Post, Broncos WR Eddie Royal will “almost certainly” be one of the Broncos’ kick returners this year. Royal is unlikely to handle both kicks and punts, as the team wants to limit his potential for injury. Royal had 600 kick return yards last season and should provide a nice boost for those in return yardage leagues this season if that’s the job the Broncos hand him.

Espn.com is reporting that Eddie Royal could have the same type of impact with Denver as Wes Welker had with the Patriots. Although this is possible, Royal is likely to play on the outside. That is unlike Welker, who is the ultimate slot receiver in the spread offense. The 2 players could have similar numbers, but Royal will have much more opportunity to use his 'burner' speed on the outside.

Broncos WR Eddie Royal caught 11 passes for 76 yards in the Week 17 loss to San Diego. That gives him 91 catches for 980 yards & 5 TDs on the year. He's ranked 7th in the NFL in receptions. He also had 11 rushes for 109 yards. Royal finished 8th in kickoff return avg. (26.1). He was a 2-time winner of the Diet Pepsi Rookie of the Week award and will get a few votes for NFL Rookie of the Year. His 91 grabs is the 7th highest mark in franchise history. Royal was playing on a bad ankle for most of the year too. He and Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall should go ahead and purchase a time-share in Hawaii because they'll be making a lot of trips out there.

Broncos WR Eddie Royal will be on the field today against the Jets' 26th-ranked pass defense.

The Denver Post report WR Eddie Royal (toe) missed practice Wednesday. Royal's tires started wearing down in October and he's averaged less than 10 yards per catch in 5 of his last 6 games. We'll know more Friday.

Eddie Royal (toe) returned to a limited practice Thursday but sort of dodged questions about a lingering turf toe. "I'm not sure what we're calling it," said Royal. Let's see if he has a full practice tomorrow.

WR Eddie Royal (toe) is questionable. This isn't the same Eddie Royal we had in September. If you're skittish about starting him we understand, though he's probably gonna play. Some nice options would be Michael Jenkins, Malcolm Floyd, Ashley Lelie, or even Davone Bess (who replaced Greg Camarillo). Note: The Broncos/Jets game was moved from 1:00 to 4:15, making Royal a little trickier.

Eddie Royal caught 6 passes for 164 yards & 1 TD vs. the Browns, including a 93-yard score against the helpless CB Brandon McDonald. Royal was left one-on-one as McDonald waved frantically at the safety to slide over. Too late. Royal also had a 18-yard catch where his knee was down at the 1-yard line, setting up a Ryan Torain TD run. Royal is also handling both punts and kick returns because Andre Hall and Selvin Young are out.  Denver has Atlanta, Oakland, NY Jets, and Kansas City next up. Two are at home, one's in a dome, and Jay Cutler is getting hot again.

Broncos WR Eddie Royal (ankle) returned to a full practice Wednesday. Great news. Brandon Stokley (concussion) did not practice.

Broncos WR Eddie Royal (ankle) was limited all week. He’s questionable. The Denver media dropped remarks like “limping” or “hesitant” all week. Royal’s risky but he'll probably feel better tomorrow morning. Darrell Jackson had a full week of practice for the first time in a month – he and Brandon Stokley could catch a few passes.

ESPN's John Clayton says "it would take a miracle" for Eddie Royal (ankle) to play today. Clayton said the ankle did not get better as the week progressed. We added Brandon Stokley to the rankings.

Eddie Royal suffered a lower left leg/ankle injury on a punt return midway through the 3rd quarter against Tampa Bay. His left leg was rolled over and he tried to walk off but required help. He was on crutches and limping after the game. X-rays were negative but team sources believe he might miss a game or two.
