The Seahawks have re-signed WR Jaron Brown. He was expected to open the season as the team's #2 WR before unexpectedly getting cut over the weekend. Brown should step back into the role -- at least until rookie D.K. Metcalf is ready to return from his knee issue.

The Seahawks are planning to release WR Jaron Brown, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's reportedly a cap-related move after the acquisition of DE Jadeveon Clowney. It still comes as a surprise, though, because Brown was slated to open the season as Seattle's #2 WR. Assuming D.K. Metcalf (knee) isn't ready, the Seahawks will be down to Malik Turner, John Ursua and Gary Jennings behind Tyler Lockett.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said WR David Moore will be out "a while" with a shoulder injury suffered in Thursday's practice. Carroll added that Moore won't be ready for Week 1 but gave no timetable beyond that. With WR D.K. Metcalf recovering from knee surgery, Jaron Brown is in line to open the season as Seattle's #2 WR. WR Tyler Lockett figures to dominate targets early on.

"Jaron Brown ... wow, talking about just an unbelievable camp. I mean, really stepping up. ... He's looked dynamic out here." That's what Seahawks OC Brian Schottenheimer said this week about WR Jaron Brown, who has been working with Tyler Lockett and David Moore as the 1st-team wideouts. Brown caught just 14 balls in his 1st season with Seattle, but Schottenheimer admitted that coaches "kind of forgot" about him while Brown was busy doing "much of the dirty work." The departure of WR Doug Baldwin has left fantasy owners projecting who will step up, with rookie D.K. Metcalf garnering much of the hype. We're not getting fired up for Brown, who has averaged just 16.7 receptions through 6 pro seasons. But we'll keep an eye on him and the fight for those top 3 receiver spots in Seattle through the summer.

The Seahawks have agreed to a 1-year deal with free-agent WR Brandon Marshall, ESPN reports. The move comes well after Marshall visited Seattle, but he enters a depth chart with opportunity available. Doug Baldwin is the only incumbent at the position who has surpassed 71 targets in a season. We'll see what Marshall has left after a lackluster pre-injury stint with the Giants. He caught just 18 of 33 targets and averaged 8.6 yards per catch over 5 games. His Seahawks deal could reportedly be worth up to $2 million with incentives, less per-year money than Seattle gave Jaron Brown. Unless Marshall proves totally cooked this summer, though, his arrival complicates the target picture behind Baldwin. Tyler Lockett's later-round ADP will make him a solid upside bet. We'll see where others settle on the depth chart and ADP charts over the next couple of months.

Cardinals WR John Brown (quad) remained sidelined on Wednesday. Fantasy owners can't be banking on him playing against the Cowboys on Monday night. Look for J.J. Nelson and Jaron Brown to again serve as Arizona's #2 and #3 WRs.

Cardinals HC Bruce Arians admitted on Monday that it "doesn't look hopeful" for WR John Brown (quad) to play against the Cowboys next Monday night. Brown didn't practice at all this past week and has no timetable for return. His absence would again leave bigger roles for J.J. Nelson and Jaron Brown. Nelson tallied a 5-120-1 line in Sunday's win over the Colts, while Brown posted a 4-73 on a team-high 11 targets.

Cardinals WR John Brown (quad) has been ruled out for this weekend's game against the Colts. He's seemingly dealing with the same issue that hampered him in August. Brown's absence leaves J.J. Nelson and Jaron Brown behind Larry Fitzgerald on the WR depth chart. With both Brown and RB David Johnson out, Fitz should see huge volume on Sunday.

With WR John Brown out indefinitely with his sickle-cell issue, Arizona is down to WRs Larry Fitzgerald, Michael Floyd and J.J. Nelson. Nelson played 84% of the offensive snaps last night, hauling in 3 of 7 targets for 84 yards. He's worth a look on waiver wires in deeper fantasy leagues.

Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) is inactive for tonight’s game against the Bengals. He wouldn’t have been a recommended fantasy start even if he suited up. Hopefully the week off gets him back to 100%. Jaron Brown figures to step in as Arizona’s #3 WR.

Cardinals HC Bruce Arians labeled WR John Brown (hamstring) a game-time decision for Sunday night's tilt with the Bengals.  Brown got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday, putting him on track to play.  But he was invisible fighting through the injury last week, going catch-less on 3 targets.  Brown is a shaky WR3 for Week 11.  We could see WR Jaron Brown play a bigger role on Sunday night with John Brown and Michael Floyd banged up.

Cardinals WR Michael Floyd (hamstring) remained sidelined on Thursday.  He's not looking like a great bet to play against the Bengals this weekend.  His absence would move Jaron Brown into the #3 spot on the depth chart -- and #2 if John Brown's hamstring injury keep him out of or limits him in Sunday night's game.
