Bengals TE Jermaine Gresham (hamstring) was unable to practice on Wednesday.  He suffered the injury last Friday and didn't play on Sunday.  His status for this weekend's game against the Titans is very much up in the air.

Bengals rookie TE Jermaine Gresham posted 45 yards and a score on 4 catches in Saturday night's preseason game against the Bills.  Our biggest concern with Gresham has been the Bengals' history of ignoring the TE in the passing game.  It looks like that'll change this season.  We just moved Gresham up our rankings.  He's a nice TE2 with some upside.

Guys are playing him and he has to learn how to beat NFL players.”  The rookie learning curve -- plus Cincinnati's history of under-utilizing the TE in their passing attack -- has us shying away from Gresham an anything more than a mid-level TE2.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Bengals rookie TE Jermaine Gresham will have no problem locking down a starting role as long as he reports to training camp on time. We agree. There’s no real competition for Gresham with Reggie Kelly and Chase Coffman – two relative unknowns – in the picture. The bigger question is how Gresham will be utilized in the Bengals passing game. OC Bob Bratkowski has gained a reputation for ignoring the TE in the past. But with one as talented as Gresham, we’re betting that’ll soon change. He’s got high-end TE2 upside this season.

Bengals rookie TE Jermaine Gresham has caught the eye of QB Carson Palmer. "I don't know if there is anything that any tight end in this league does that he can't potentially do," Palmer said. "Not that he's mastered anything yet. Not that he's got everything down. But I don't see a weakness.” Palmer went on to note that he’s yet to see Gresham with pads on, but the praise is certainly a good sign for the rook. The Bengals don’t typically utilize the TE, but they’ve never had one with J.G.’s talent. Depending on how he develops in training camp, the 22-year-old could enter TE2 discussions.
