The Patriots have traded a 2nd-round pick to the Falcons in exchange for WR Mohamed Sanu. New England tried to acquire Sanu during this spring's draft, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, so it's clearly a player the team covets. Sanu was a steady producer in Atlanta, averaging 4.2 catches and 47 yards per game over the past 3+ seasons. He played primarily in the slot for the Falcons, but we'll see how he fits into the Patriots' WR corps alongside Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon (once he's back from his knee injury), Phillip Dorsett and Jakobi Meyers. When everyone's healthy, it figures to be Edelman, Gordon and Sanu in 3-WR sets. Sanu has a brand new offense to learn, though. And note that he's going from the league's 2nd pass-heaviest offense to its 14th run-heaviest. Sanu is worth stashing in most fantasy leagues but won't be a recommended Week 8 starter. The Falcons, meanwhile, figures to roll with either Justin Hardy or Russell Gage as the #3 WR. But Sanu's departure will mostly just free up extra targets for Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley and Austin Hooper.

Patriots WR Josh Gordon (knee, ankle) has been ruled out for Monday night's game against the Jets after missing practice all week. WR Phillip Dorsett (hamstring) put in a limited week of practice and is listed as questionable. The Monday night kickoff obviously makes Dorsett tough to use in fantasy lineups. Jakobi Meyers will either serve as New England's #2 or #3 WR, depending on Dorsett's status.

Patriots WR Josh Gordon (knee) did not practice on Thursday. WR Phillip Dorsett (hamstring) was out there. It could be Dorsett along with Julian Edelman and Jakobi Meyers as New England's top 3 WRs against the Jets on Monday night.

Patriots WR Josh Gordon hurt his left knee in the 1st half of Thursday night's game against the Giants. He was announced as questionable to return but never did. Gordon was spotted riding a stationary bike shortly after the injury and was on the sidelines during the 2nd half, which would seem to suggest this isn't a serious injury. But we'll watch for further updates.

Patriots WR Josh Gordon (knee) is active for tonight’s game against the Giants. He was limited in practice all week, but we haven’t heard any concern about the knee. The weather in tonight’s game is a bigger concern — but we still like Gordon as a WR2 with upside.

The forecast for Thursday night's game between the Giants and Patriots calls for rain and wind gusts of 30+ mph. That's enough to impact the passing and kicking games. Hopefully you're not relying on anything in New York's passing game. We nudged QB Tom Brady and WRs Julian Edelman and Josh Gordon down the Week 6 Rankings -- but they all still sit safely inside starter territory in this pristine matchup. Try to avoid both Ks in this game.

Patriots WR Josh Gordon (knee) is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game against the Giants. He was limited with this knee issue last week but wasn't on the final injury report. We've heard nothing to suggest it's a real concern, but check back around 7 pm ET tomorrow to make sure he's active. WR Phillip Dorsett (hamstring) is out for Week 5, leaving rookie Jakobi Meyers as New England's #3 WR.

Patriots WR Josh Gordon played over a quarter in Thursday night's preseason finale, catching 2 of 6 targets from QB Jarrett Stidham for 30 yards. He also drew a pass-interference penalty. Gordon appeared to be in excellent shape, just 2 weeks after being reinstated. It's still possible that he's on a snap count early in the season, but Gordon doesn't need many snaps to do damage. His recent 12-team ADP is sitting at 6.04.

Patriots WR Josh Gordon has passed his physical and been activated from the NFI list, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Gordon was in full pads for Sunday's practice. We'll be looking for reports on what kind of shape he's in, but he's seemingly on track to be out there come Week 1. Gordon's ADP is sitting in the mid-7th-round in best balls on DRAFT over the past week.

The NFL has conditionally reinstated Patriots WR Josh Gordon, according to both Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport. He can rejoin the team on Sunday for meetings, conditioning work and individual drills, according to the statement released by the league. The statement doesn’t say whether Gordon is eligible to play in games yet — but Schefter confirms that he’s “ready to go for the regular season.” Of course, fantasy drafters need to be wary of the potential for relapse. Gordon performed like a WR2 after joining the Pats during last season, though, and remains a high-upside fantasy prospect. His return crushes the sleeper prospects of guys like N’Keal Harry, Phillip Dorsett, Jakobi Meyers and Maurice Harris. QB Tom Brady obviously gets a boost. Check out our updated projections for all of the Patriots.

Patriots WR Josh Gordon has applied for reinstatement, according to SiriusXM's Howard Balzer. Gordon was suspended indefinitely in December for again violating the league's substance abuse policy. Since then, New England re-signed him as a restricted free agent, and Gordon was reportedly working out with QB Tom Brady. We'll see where this goes, but you could do worse than Gordon as a late-round flier. He posted a 40-720-3 line in 11 games with the Patriots last year, ranking 28th among WRs in PPR points over that span.

The Patriots have placed an original-round tender on restricted free agent WR Josh Gordon. That means he'll get a 1-year, $2.025 million contract from New England if he doesn't sign elsewhere. And signing elsewhere seems unlikely for Gordon, whose status remains uncertain following his latest drug-program violation. The Browns originally spent a 2nd-round pick on Gordon in the supplemental draft, so it looks like any new team would have to give such a pick to New England to sign Gordon.

NESN's Doug Kyed reports that a return to the Patriots is "still possible" for WR Josh Gordon. He's currently serving an indefinite suspension after turning in diluted drug test samples. Gordon is reportedly in a Gainesville-area rehab center, where his treatment is being paid for by the Pats. We wouldn't consider him any better than 50/50 to get back on an NFL field -- but the 27-year-old is still worth stashing in most dynasty leagues.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that it's "possible" WR Josh Gordon is reinstated for the 2019 season. He's suspended indefinitely and will need to show the league he's clean for a "sustained period of time," according to Rapoport. Frankly, we weren't betting on Gordon ever stepping on an NFL field again. So hearing that he could be back next season is surprising. Still just 27, Gordon is worth stashing in most dynasty leagues.

Patriots WR Josh Gordon announced Thursday that he's stepping away from the team to focus on his mental health. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Gordon is facing another indefinite suspension for violating terms of his reinstatement under the substance abuse policy. Don't expect to see him on the field again this season -- and this could spell the end of Gordon's NFL career. It's obviously a significant loss for the Patriots. Gordon has played over 70% of New England offensive snaps since arriving and averaged 6.2 targets per game. WR Chris Hogan would seem like the big winner, but he averaged just 4.7 targets and 2.3 catches over the first 3 weeks before the Gordon trade. We should see some more WR Cordarrelle Patterson, while WR Julian Edelman, TE Rob Gronkowski and RB James White could also pick up an extra target or 2.

Update: Gordon has been suspended indefinitely for violating the terms of his reinstatement under the substance abuse policy. It's the 5th suspension of his NFL career and could result in permanent banishment from the league.
