Seahawks S Kam Chancellor left Sunday's win over the Ravens early with a tailbone injury and did not return. We'll keep an eye on his status this week.

ESPN's Stephen A. Smith reports that Seahawks S Kam Chancellor will return to the team Wednesday. Seattle reportedly has made no adjustments to his contract and said it will not forgive the fines he racked up by holding out all of August and through the 1st 2 games. The 2 sides could negotiate some reduction, though. We can't expect Chancellor to be fully ready for action after nearly 2 months away from the team, but we'll see what further reports say about his condition. IDP owners should keep an eye on Chancellor for now, but don't go chasing him too hard unless you play in a deep league. He finished 2 of the past 3 seasons outside the top 40 fantasy DBs (depending on your scoring system) and 2013 around DB25. Chancellor's return can only help a Seahawks D that has done nothing special while helping the team start 0-2.

Almost a week after the team activated him, S Earl Thomas actually took the field Tuesday (wearing a red, no-contact jersey). Thomas had been sidelined since the Super Bowl after offseason surgery to repair a torn shoulder labrum. The timing of his return suggests he should be ready for the regular-season opener. Thomas' safety partner, Kam Chancellor, hit Day 19 of his holdout Tuesday.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Seahawks S Kam Chancellor will hold out for the start of training camp as he seeks a new contract. Chancellor just signed a 5-year deal in 2013 worth a little more than $29 million, which makes him 1 of the league's highest paid safeties. The holdout will leave Seattle without both safety starters for some time as Earl Thomas works back from shoulder surgery. IDP owners should be particularly wary of Chancellor after he finished 2014 with an MCL tear. He's not a special enough fantasy producer to target in drafts while he's away.

The Seahawks have already ruled LB Bobby Wagner out for Sunday's game at Kansas City. It's not surprising, considering that Wagner just started running this week in his return from turf toe. HC Pete Carroll said he hopes his MLB will return to practice next week, according to ESPN.com. S Kam Chancellor, meanwhile, has returned to full practices this week and should be on track to return Sunday after missing 2 games with a groin injury.

Seahawks S Kam Chancellor is active for today's game against Oakland.  He popped up on Friday's injury report with a groin injury, but it's obviously not serious.  Chancellor still comes with a bit more risk than usual in fantasy lineups.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said Friday that S Kam Chancellor will be a game-time decision for Sunday's meeting with the Raiders, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. It appears Chancellor may have suffered a groin injury in practice this week. He didn't appear on the injury report Wednesday or Thursday but then missed Friday's workout and turned up questionable on the final report. The 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff makes it tough to wait on Chancellor for your IDP lineup, and thus not worth it in most cases.

HC Pete Carroll says Seahawks S Kam Chancellor is a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup with Dallas because of a hip injury, according to the Seattle Times.  The injury is reportedly to the opposite hip from the one that required offseason surgery.  Chancellor missed both days of practice this week in the short turnaround after Monday night's win over Washington.  The 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday will make it tough for many IDP owners to wait on Chancellor in a high-upside matchup.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said last week that S Kam Chancellor might be dealing with ankle trouble all season.  But Carroll spoke more optimistically about the joint after his team returned to the field Monday following a Week 4 bye.  “It bothered him a lot in the San Diego game [Sept. 14],” Carroll said of Chancellor. “But he did a really good job against Denver [Sept. 21] and he looked fine [Monday]. We might be able to put that behind us. We hope so.”  Chancellor delivered 9 tackles, an INT and a forced fumble in that Denver game and will have enjoyed 2 weeks of rest before he faces Washington on Monday night.  We're certainly willing to play him in that rosy matchup while we wait to see if the ankle becomes a problem again.  Even the San Diego game ended with a solid 6 solo tackles for the Seattle SS.

Seahawks S Kam Chancellor began training camp on the sideline, but HC Pete Carroll told the Seattle Post-Intelligencer that his starting SS should be back soon.  "Kam Chancellor is really close and ready to go," he said. "He's chomping at the bit to go. ... Both went through walkthroughs so they're close. We expect them back soon."  Chancellor's recovering from reportedly minor offseason hip surgery, so his field absence to start camp came as no surprise.  We don't love Chancellor as a fantasy option, but he has some upside beyond his standing in our 2014 IDP rankings.

Seahawks S Kam Chancellor had offseason hip surgery after all.  Chancellor refuted a John Clayton report in March that he'd undergone a "minor" hip operation.  But the team confirmed Tuesday that Chancellor did have such a procedure about a month ago (which would be early April).  NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Seattle hopes to have Chancellor back in time for preseason games.  That suggests the Seahawks expect the starting safety to be limited into training camp.  If that happens, look for Chancellor to slip down the 2014 IDP rankings.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll said Thursday he's "pretty confident" that SS Kam Chancellor will play against the Rams on Sunday. Chancellor suffered a concussion on a helmet-to-helmet collision with Anquan Boldin in Week 10. He has already passed the tests, though, and returned to full practice. Barring a setback, he should be good to go for fantasy owners.

Seahawks SS Kam Chancellor left Sunday's win over Baltimore in the 4th quarter with a concussion. We'll see how he does this week with the mandated testing to find out if he'll be around for Sunday's matchup with the Rams.

Seahawks SS Kam Chancellor is active and expected to start today's matchup with the Giants. He should be fine to use in IDP, though there's always the slight risk of aggravation to the deep thigh bruise that cost him Week 4.
