Washington HC Jay Gruden said Friday he's "very optimistic" RB Chris Thompson will play Monday night against the Eagles, according to ESPN's John Keim. The official game-status report will come out later this afternoon, but we'd expect something better than questionable for Thompson after he put in full practices Thursday and Friday. Thompson missed the past 4 games and 6 of the past 7 with rib injuries. He'll be a fringe option against a Philly D likely to miss MLB Jordan Hicks for the 2nd straight game.

Redskins RB Chris Thompson (ribs) is out for Sunday’s game against the Texans. Kapri Bibbs will continue to serve as the change-of-pace back but would be a desperation fantasy play.

Redskins RB Chris Thompson (rib) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bucs. He still has no timetable for return. Kapri Bibbs will continue to operate as Washington's change-of-pace back but isn't much of a fantasy option. He's totaled 7 carries and 8 targets in the past 3 games without Thompson.

Redskins RB Chris Thompson (rib) is out for Sunday's game against the Falcons. It's a missed opportunity vs. the league's worst defense in RB coverage. RB Kapri Bibbs will step in as Washington's #2 RB and is a deep-league PPR option in this matchup. He posted a 4-43-1 line on 5 targets back in Week 7.

Redskins RB Adrian Peterson (ankle, shoulder) is active for today’s game against the Cowboys. He played through these injuries last week, carrying 17 times. Expect a similar workload today. Redskins RB Chris Thompson (rib, knee), meanwhile, is inactive. That leaves Kapri Bibbs as Washington’s #2 RB.

As expected, Redskins RB Adrian Peterson (ankle) is active for today’s game against the Panthers and Chris Thompson (ribs) is inactive. Kapri Bibbs will step in as Washington’s #2 RB, but Peterson should handle as many touches as he can handle.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Washington RB Chris Thompson is expected to miss today's game against the Panthers. He's officially questionable because of rib and knee injuries. Washington also reportedly expects to be without WR Jamison Crowder (ankle). Factor in injuries for Paul Richardson and Josh Doctson, and the target ceiling for TE Jordan Reed -- in a positive matchup for TE scoring -- only rises higher. Adrian Peterson could see a bit more backfield receiving work with Thompson out. And Kapri Bibbs figures to be in the picture as well.

Redskins RBs Adrian Peterson (ankle) and Chris Thompson (ribs) are listed as questionable for this weekend's game against the Panthers. It sounds like both guys will play, but we'll find out for sure by noon ET on Sunday. RB Kapri Bibbs is next in line if 1 or both of these guys can't go.

Washington RB Adrian Peterson separated his right shoulder late in the 1st half of Monday night's loss at New Orleans, according to Cox Sports. The team announced afterward that he'll have an MRI on the joint Tuesday. We'll see about the diagnosis heading into a decent home matchup with Carolina in Week 6. If Peterson sits, Kapri Bibbs would likely fill his role. Bibbs scored a 4th-quarter, short-yardage TD against the Saints.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says to "expect a lot" of Redskins RB Kapri Bibbs against the Broncos today. That's seemingly regardless of RB Samaje Perine's status. Rapoport labels him a game-time decision with his groin injury. Bibbs spent the first 3 years of his NFL career with Denver and said this week that he wants to show the Broncos that "they made a huge mistake" getting rid of him. He'll be worth RB3 consideration if Perine ends up inactive.

The Broncos on Monday placed RB Kapri Bibbs (ankle) on IR and signed RB Justin Forsett. HC Gary Kubiak worked with Forsett in Houston in 2012 and in Baltimore in 2014, so there's familiarity here. The 31-year-old Forsett has looked washed up on his way to 3.1 yards per carry this season, though. He's no immediate threat to Devontae Booker but could see an increased role if the rookie continues to struggle. Booker has been held under 3.4 yards per carry in 5 straight games.

Broncos insider Mike Klis believes that Kapri Bibbs could take over as the team's lead back this week. It's just 1 beat writers opinion, but HC Gary Kubiak did say Monday that Bibbs has earned more opportunities. He carried just twice for 11 yards in Sunday night's loss to the Raiders but took a short catch for an impressive 69-yard TD. RB Devontae Booker, meanwhile, mustered just 22 yards on his 10 totes. He's now averaging just 2.6 yards per carry in 2 games as Denver's lead back. We probably won't know exactly how the backfield touches will be divvied in Week 10, which is a shame in a pristine matchup against the Saints. At least for now, consider both Bibbs and Booker risk/reward fantasy plays.

Broncos RB C.J. Anderson is expected to miss "at least a few weeks" with bone bruise in his knee, according to insider Mike Garafolo. Anderson is getting a 2nd opinion today to determine the exact extent of the damage. We should get a more concrete timetable for his return later this week, but NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that "being out for the season is also possible." RB Devontae Booker will take over as Denver's lead (feature?) back for as long as Anderson is out. The rookie has been impressive this year, averaging 4.8 yards per carry and 7.7 yards per catch. RB Kapri Bibbs moves up to the #2 spot on the depth chart with Anderson out.
