Panthers HC Ron Rivera said Tuesday that WR Kelvin Benjamin is "where he needs to be" as far as his weight and conditioning. The Charlotte Observer's Jourdan Rodrigue reported back in June that Benjamin had worked his way back into shape after showing up to April OTAs overweight. Consider this a non-issue going forward. Benjamin has some new target competition this year in rookies Christian McCaffrey and Curtis Samuel, but he's a fine value at his late-6th-round ADP.

Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin has worked his way back into shape, according to the Charlotte Observer's Jourdan Rodrigue. Benjamin made headlines back in April when he showed up to OTAs overweight. That should be a non-issue, though, as long as he keeps the pounds off between now and the start of training camp. Benjamin has new target competition this season with the arrivals of rookies Christian McCaffrey and Curtis Samuel, but he could still prove to be a value pick at his current WR36 ADP. Benjamin has ranked 15th and 25th, respectively, among WRs in PPR points in his 2 healthy NFL seasons.

Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin showed up for voluntary team workouts overweight, according to the Charlotte Observer. "Am I concerned? Yes, because he is heavy. I'm going to admit that right now," HC Ron Rivera added. "But is he working hard? Absolutely. He's been there everyday and done the things we've asked him to do, and it's all strictly on a voluntary basis." There's obviously plenty of time for Benjamin to get in shape well before training camp starts. But the bigger issue here is whether he has the desire to develop and improve. Benjamin has had weight issues since Florida State redshirted him as a freshman because he was out of shape. We'll see where this goes and where his ADP stands as we get into summer. Carolina added some intriguing offensive parts via the draft in RB Christian McCaffrey and WR Curtis Samuel who could siphon looks from the team's #1 WR.

Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin tallied just 1 reception among 3 targets in Sunday's win over the Chargers. QB Cam Newton completed just 10 of 27 passes on the day, and Benjamin faced a predictably tough matchup with San Diego CB Casey Hayward. It was Benjamin's 3rd straight game with 2 or fewer receptions. It's tough to even consider him a starting option for next week's trip to Washington (and CB Josh Norman).

Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (shoulder) is not listed on the team's final injury report. He was held out of Wednesday's practice but returned to a limited workout on Thursday and was a full-go on Friday. The shoulder isn't a concern, but a matchup with CB Richard Sherman and the Seahawks leaves Benjamin as a WR3 for Week 13.

Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (shoulder) returned to practice on Thursday. He's on track to play on Sunday night but will be just a WR3 vs. Richard Sherman and the Seahawks.

Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (shoulder) was held out of Wednesday's practice. He played through the issue this past weekend and should be available for Sunday night's game in Seattle. We'll update Benjamin's status again tomorrow.

Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) is active for today’s game against the Saints. We haven’t heard any concern about that knee. Get Benjamin into fantasy lineups in the plus, plus matchup.

Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) is expected to play against the Saints today, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms. Benjamin was limited on Thursday and Friday, but we never heard any concern about his status. Benjamin is a legit WR1 in today's dream matchup in Nawlins.

The Panthers listed WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) as questionable for this weekend's game against the Saints. He was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday but is reportedly just dealing with some knee soreness. Benjamin should be fine for this week's A+ matchup, but check back at noon ET on Sunday to make sure he's active.

Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin was added to Thursday's injury report as limited with a knee issue. HC Ron Rivera said afterward that Benjamin's knee is "sore." That's better than him suffering a new injury during practice. You can tentatively expect Benjamin to play against the Saints this weekend, but check back tomorrow for another update.

Panthers OC Mike Shula admitted that WR Kelvin Benjamin's 1-target outing against the Vikings on Sunday needs to be corrected. “Yeah, we’ve got to find a way to get him the ball more. That starts with me,” Shula said. “But we’ve got to make sure we’re doing it in a way that we’re not just trying to force him the ball.” Benjamin racked up 21 looks over his first 2 games. HC Ron Rivera noted that Minnesota jammed the big WR at the line of scrimmage and used safety help over the top. Look for the Panthers to make adjustments this week and get Benjamin involved early and often this weekend vs. Atlanta.

The Panthers are "eyeing around 35 snaps" for WR Kelvin Benjamin in Week 1, per insider Jonathan Jones. Benjamin has been eased in after last year's torn ACL and isn't yet ready to play a full game. 35 snaps is about half of the game, although we suspect that Benjamin will be on the field in passing situations and in the red zone. The bigger Week 1 concern is a matchup with Denver's elite secondary.

ESPN's David Newton reports that Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin has been "struggling a bit with conditioning." HC Ron Rivera reportedly said that Benjamin has been getting winded "particularly after a deep pattern or two" and that the goal is to get Benjamin ready to handle 30-35 snaps by the end of the preseason. If that's all they're planning to run him for early in the regular season, then we're talking about a guy playing about 50% of the time. Combine that with the low passing volume of the Carolina offense, and you get a risky fantasy prospect -- especially at Benjamin's late-Round 3 ADP. He flashed plenty of upside as a rookie, and QB Cam Newton's coming off arguably his best season as a passer. But we're not interested in Benjamin at his current price. If he's truly a half-time player to start the year, then that would leave more snaps -- and deep balls -- for WRs Devin Funchess and Ted Ginn.

Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) avoided the PUP list to open training camp. That's not a surprise after he was able to sprint and run routes this spring. Carolina might still play it safe with the young WR -- it's uncertain if he'll play in the preseason -- but Benjamin is on track to be ready to roll come Week 1. He'll be over a year removed from his torn ACL at that point.

Beat writer Joseph Person called Panthers WR Devin Funchess the “star” of OTAs. The Michigan product has shown “terrific” hands while looking more “fluid” as a route runner. Checking in at 6’4, 225 pounds, there’s plenty of room for the 22-year-old Funchess to grow. He’s an intriguing target in drafts, especially if Kelvin Benjamin (torn ACL) struggles to reach pre-injury form.

Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) has been sprinting and running routes in OTAs, per insider Joe Person.  He's not yet participating in full-squad drills and admits that conditioning is an issue.  “I’m not where I want to be, but I’m still getting there,” Benjamin said. “It’s just getting that football wind back.”  He remains on track to be 100% for the start of training camp, though, which will be almost a full year after his torn ACL.  Benjamin is the 21st WR off the board in recent MFL10 drafts.  He finished 15th in PPR points as a rookie in 2014.

Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin (knee) is expected to be a "full go" for the start of training camp this summer, according to insider Joe Person.  Benjamin missed the entire 2015 season after tearing his ACL in camp last August.  “Kelvin has worked his fanny off,” GM Dave Gettleman said at the Combine. “He really has taken the bull by the horns. Like any other young kid it took him a couple weeks to get over the woe-is-me stuff and understand it’s time to go. He’ll be doing some things this spring and he’ll be ready to go for training camp.”  Benjamin resumed jogging in December and has recently started cutting.  He'll be almost 13 months removed from the injury when the 2016 season kicks off.  Benjamin was a top 16 WR as a rookie and will be playing with an improved Cam Newton this year.

Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin has a torn ACL and will require surgery, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.  The big 2nd-year wideout will miss the entire 2015 season.  His absence leaves Carolina with 1 of the weakest WR corps in the league and figures to mean a greater reliance on the run game. We'll have updated projections for the Panthers later tonight.
