Titans WR Kendall Wright leads all rookies with 62 receptions. But they've gone for just 586 yards -- a disappointing 9.5-yard average. WRs coach Dave Ragone says that's simply a product of Wright being used mostly on quick screens and slants. But Ragone and the rest of the coaching staff knows Wright has the ability to beat defenders downfield. “When Kendall did have the chance to get vertical on people, he was able to get by them,” Ragone said. “So I think as a coach and a coaching staff, you go back and you look at those things. The great thing is that we know he has that ability. He’s just scratching the surface." Wright is quicker than he is fast, but still ran a 4.43 40-yard dash at his Pro Day. He averaged 15.4 yards per catch at Baylor last year. Wright should emerge as Tennessee's clear-cut #2 WR in 2013. And with improved QB play, he'll possess breakout potential. Said Ragone: "I think he comes in here next year as a much more confident guy, knowing he can beat NFL defenders.”
