Kenny Britt Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

X-rays confirmed that Browns WR Corey Coleman broke his hand in Sunday's loss to the Ravens, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson. We haven't seen a timetable for return yet, but Coleman missed 6 weeks with the same injury last year. Expect something similar this time around. He could re-emerge as a fantasy asset over the 2nd half of the season but is droppable in shallower fantasy leagues. Coleman's injury is theoretically a big opportunity for Kenny Britt, but he's been invisible through 2 games. WR Rashard Higgins led the team with 11 targets, 7 catches and 95 yards in Week 2. He's worth a look in deeper leagues.

The Browns signed WR Kenny Britt to a 4-year, $32.5 million deal, reports ESPN's Adam Caplan. So Britt heads from a Rams squad that finished 31st in passing yards last year to a Browns team that ranked 28th. He's a glutton for punishment. Britt, of course, managed a 26th-place PPR finish despite his poor situation last year. We'll see who ends up chucking him the rock in Cleveland, but Britt is capable of at least another WR3-level season in 2017. His arrival means the Browns are unlikely to re-sign WR Terrelle Pryor. It'll be Britt and Corey Coleman in the starting lineup.

Rams WR Kenny Britt (shoulder) is doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals after missing practice all week. Los Angeles will trot out Tavon Austin, Brian Quick and Pharoh Cooper as its top 3 WRs in the finale.

The Rams have fired HC Jeff Fisher. He finishes his 5-year stint with the team with a 31-45-1 record. None of his teams won more than 7 games or sniffed the playoffs. Most damning is that the Rams never showed any signs of progress under Fisher's watch. We'll see who Los Angeles tabs as its interim HC, but this will remain an offense best avoided in fantasy lineups the rest of the way. The Rams travel to Seattle to face a pissed-off Seahawks squad on Thursday night.

Update: Special Teams Coordinator John Fassel has been promoted to interim HC. Fassel has only been a HC for DII New Mexico Highlands University.

Rams WR Tavon Austin (chest) is inactive for today’s game against the Patriots. Rookie Pharoh Cooper figures to get some run in the slot but shouldn’t be in fantasy lineups. WR Kenny Britt and TE Lance Kendricks are the best bets for targets.

Rams WR Kenny Britt (thigh) is active for today’s game against the Cardinals. He only got in 1 limited practice this week and probably isn’t at 100%. That, plus a difficult matchup, means Britt shouldn’t be in fantasy lineups.

Rams WR Kenny Britt (thigh) is questionable for this weekend's game against the Cardinals. He sat out Wednesday and Thursday and was limited on Friday. Britt shouldn't be in your Week 4 fantasy plans against CB Patrick Peterson and Co.

Rams WR Kenny Britt injured his shoulder making a block in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's game against the Packers.  He was in obvious pain as he was tended to by trainers.  His absence would open up more playing time on the outside for WRs Brian Quick and Stedman Bailey.

Update: Britt later returned but finished without a catch.

Rams WR Kenny Britt has reached a new 2-year deal with the team. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Britt got $4.3 million guaranteed on a contract that could pay as much as $14 million. That seems like a lot for a guy who has never caught more than the 48 passes he hauled in last year. Britt also tallied 748 yards -- a 15.6-yard average -- and 3 TDs. It was good to see his big-play ability resurface in 2014, but it's tough to see his ceiling reaching nearly as high as it did when he looked like an ascending WR1 in Tennessee a few years ago. Britt looks like a late-round flier in a mediocre passing game for fantasy football owners. We'd still bet on Brian Quick as the higher-ceiling fantasy play there.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Rams WR Brian Quick is "likely" done for the season with a dislocated shoulder and torn rotator cuff suffered in yesterday's loss to the Chiefs.  Quick got off to a hot start this year, racking up 21 catches, 322 yards and 3 scores in his first 4 games.  All 3 marks gave him career highs.  Quick totaled just 4 catches for 53 scoreless yards over his last 3 games, though.  There's certainly talent here, but Quick will need steadier QB play to truly break out in 2015.  The 2014 Rams will move forward with Kenny Britt as their #1 WR.  Stedman Bailey looks like the favorite for #2 WR duties after replacing Quick yesterday.  It's tough to get real excited about either guy considering the Rams rank 23rd in pass attempts and 24th in pass yards.

Rams WR Kenny Britt might be held out of the 3rd preseason game after suffering a shoulder injury in last weekend's exhibition.  Beat writer Jim Thomas calls it a "ding," so it doesn't sound like a serious concern.  Of course, injuries have been a recurring issue for Britt, but at least it's not his knee.  He remains an intriguing late-round sleeper in fantasy drafts.

Rams WR Kenny Britt sits with the starters on the Rams' initial depth chart, which the team released Monday.  It's the culmination of a buzzy offseason and a nice start to training camp, solidifying Britt as an intriguing later-round gamble.  He's listed with Tavon Austin as the starting WRs, and ahead of Brian Quick.  Of course, Britt must hang on to that starting position and stay healthy -- which has been as big a problem as his off-field stuff.

Rams WR Kenny Britt is off to a good start with his new team.  He's stayed out of trouble off the field, stayed healthy on it and has been making plays in spring practice.  “Kept himself in really good shape during the free agency period," HC Jeff Fisher said.  "Came in and has done a great job. He’s had no setbacks, he feels great physically. So he can potentially return to where he was a very productive receiver.”  Britt's rocked-up frame has earned him the nickname "Incredible Hulk" from his teammates.  It sounds like he's focused and motivated.  If Britt's head is screwed on straight, he could easily emerge as St. Louis' top WR -- and an intriguing fantasy prospect -- this season.  We'll continue to keep a close eye on him when training camp opens.

WR Kenny Britt has agree to a 1-year deal with the Rams, according to Pro Football Talk.  Rams HC Jeff Fisher, of course, drafted Britt in the 1st round back in 2009 as the coach of the Titans.  They spent 2 years together before Fisher resigned and then took over in St. Louis.  Britt has always carried loads of talent but damaged his production with injuries and repeated off-field issues.  Fisher clearly believes that Britt's worth the risk, and the Rams still need the playmaking help on offense.  The 6'3, 223-pound 25-year-old (until September) will make for a high-upside gamble in the double-digit rounds of your fantasy football draft this summer.  Any earlier than Round 10, and the risk probably outweighs the upside.  If Britt stays healthy and out of trouble, his arrival can only help QB Sam Bradford.  It could also help create room inside for 2nd-year slot man Tavon Austin.

Titans WR Kenny Britt (ribs) has been practicing all week and is set to return for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.  “It definitely helped my ribs, and it helped my legs,’’ Britt said of the week off.  He's still no better than 3rd in the pecking order, though, and isn't a fantasy option.

1:57pm EDT 9/29/13

Titans WR Kenny Britt (ribs) is inactive for today's game against the Jets.  Rookie Justin Hunter should see more action, but look for WRs Kendall Wright and Nate Washington to dominate targets.
