Eagles ILB Kiko Alonso returned to practice Tuesday after 2 weeks out with a concussion. He took part in individual drills but sat out the team portion. Per multiple reports, HC Chip Kelly said he'd bring Alonso along slowly this week. Alonso said after practice that he'd like to play in Saturday's exhibition game but doesn't know if he will. ILB Mychal Kendricks also returned to limited practice Tuesday after missing a week with an unspecified injury.

Eagles LB Kiko Alonso suffered a concussion in Tuesday's practice this week and must go through the league protocol before returning to the field. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that it's Alonso's 1st known concussion in the NFL, so this doesn't seem like a concern beyond his immediate recovery window.

Eagles LB Kiko Alonso is excited about how good his repaired knee feels. “I honestly didn’t think I’d be doing this much,” Alonso told Philly.com on Friday. “I’ve just been going on how I feel, and it’s feeling really good.” Alonso reportedly practiced without restriction this week. Getting into full workouts so early can only help the new Eagle's conditioning as he gets used to Chip Kelly practices again. We'll see as we more toward and into training camp how Philly plans to use its crowd at ILB.

The Eagles will trade RB LeSean McCoy to the Bills in exchange for LB Kiko Alonso, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.  It's a massive blockbuster that comes out of nowhere.  There were whispers that Philly didn't want to take on McCoy's $11.95 million cap charge in 2015.  And he was phased out of certain parts of the game plan last season.  So the Eagles ship the ultra-talented 26-year-old to Buffalo.  Shady will clearly be the focal point of the Bills offense under run-minded HC Rex Ryan and OC Greg Roman.  But the downgrade in supporting cast is steep.  McCoy's short and long-term fantasy value takes a hit with the move.  The Eagles, meanwhile, are left with Darren Sproles and Chris Polk as their top 2 RBs.  We'll see if they add to the group in free agency and/of the draft.  Philly also acquires a defensive building block in LB Kiko Alonso, who racked up 159 tackles in his 2013 rookie season before missing this past year with a torn ACL.

Bills LB Kiko Alonso told the team website Wednesday that he expects his repaired left knee to be ready for training camp. “By camp, I definitely feel I’ll be at 100 percent," he said. "I feel very good with where I’m at. By camp I’ll be full go.” Alonso tore the ACL in that knee last July, before training camp began, so we certainly expected him to get back in time for the 2015 season. He seems like a good fit at ILB in the 3-4 system of new HC Rex Ryan, but we'll see how everything shakes out as the team gets through the start of free agency, the draft and into OTAs.

Multiple sources report that Bills LB Kiko Alonso suffered an ACL tear in a Tuesday workout in Oregon.  Doctors have yet to determine the extent of the damage and, thus, whether he'll miss all of the coming season.  But we're not betting on Alonso returning in 2014.  Nigel Bradham, Keith Rivers and Ty Powell look like top candidates for his vacated weak-side LB spot in new DC Jim Schwartz's 4-3 scheme.  Alonso's absence could help MLB Brandon Spikes find more tackles and stay on the field for 3rd downs.  Check out our updated projections for Buffalo's defense and its IDPs.

Bills LB Kiko Alonso injured his knee while working out in Oregon on Tuesday.  HC Doug Marrone said in a statement, "We do not have the details at this point, but early indications are that it may be significant."  We'll be waiting to see if this injury will cost Alonso part or all of the coming season.  His absence would deliver a big blow to Buffalo's defense and the 2014 IDP rankings.  Alonso delivered top 10 fantasy numbers in his rookie season.

Bills LB Kiko Alonso is sitting out OTAs while rehabbing after offseason hip surgery.  HC Doug Marrone said Thursday that he expects to have the 2nd-year player back in time for training camp.  That'd be good for Alonso as he adjusts to a 4-3 weak-side role after playing 3-4 ILB as a rookie.  Barring some sort of setback, the hip issue shouldn't affect Alonso's standing in our 2014 IDP rankings.

The Bills said Friday that they'll play LB Kiko Alonso in the weak outside spot in DC Jim Schwartz's 4-3 scheme this year and seek another LB to man the middle.  “We think with his athletic ability, his speed, and his instincts, why limit him by having to take on those big guards?" GM Doug Whaley told ESPN.com.  "Let’s cover him up and let him run and hit.”  Some football folks expressed surprise when the Bills shared the plan, but it seems like a perfect fit to us.  Alonso played inside in Buffalo's 3-4 alignment last season, but he looks like a natural WLB in a 4-3.  Look for Alonso to sit safely among the top 20 LBs in our 2014 IDP rankings, especially behind a strong D-line.  We'll see who Buffalo taps to play the middle.  Former Patriots LB Brandon Spikes visited Friday and would make for a good fit.  Newly signed OLB Keith Rivers will play the strong side.

Bills LB Kiko Alonso (knee) is active despite tweaking an existing knee issue in practice on Friday.  That certainly adds risk today against the Jaguars, but you'll have to balance that vs. the reward potential of a leading IDP performer for the season.  We have Alonso in LB range for Week 15.

Bills LB Kiko Alonso is questionable for Sunday after tweaking his injured knee in practice on Friday.  The issue had limited his practice reps all week and now makes him a risky IDP option vs. Jacksonville.  Of course, Alonso's tremendous multi-category upside means you'll have to weigh the risk vs. the reward as you set your lineup.

12:27pm EST 12/11/13

Bills LB Kiko Alonso (knee) put in only a limited practice Wednesday.  HC Doug Marrone said afterward, however, that the team was basically just resting him and that the rookie should be fine for Sunday.  Keep a key IDP in your lineup plans for Week 15.
