The Browns have ruled Edge Myles Garrett out for Sunday's game against the Bengals. He did sit out Friday's practice and is officially listed with shoulder and hamstring issues. But Garrett's sitting because Cleveland doesn't need this game. Beware of other Browns starting defenders in this game for that reason. Missing Garrett also makes Cleveland a worse team-defense play.

Monday's MRI revealed no structural damage in Browns Edge Myles Garrett's injured left shoulder, according to multiple reports. HC Kevin Stefanski called Garrett day-to-day and indicated he's optimistic for Garrett's chances of playing Sunday against the Rams. We'll watch Garrett's status throughout the week, and you should make sure to have an insurance option. But it sounds like we'll have Garrett for IDP lineups.

Browns Edge Myles Garrett injured his left shoulder in Sunday's loss to the Broncos. He said afterward that he felt something pop, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Garrett did re-enter the game late but left the stadium with his arm in a sling. We'll see what his Monday MRI says. Losing Garrett for any time would obviously be a big blow to one of fantasy's -- and real life's -- best defenses.

Browns Edge Myles Garrett looks ready to go for Sunday's game against the 49ers. He opened the week by sitting out Wednesday's practice with the foot issue that put him in a walking boot after the Week 4 loss to Baltimore. But Garrett returned to a limited practice Thursday and then went full on Friday. Cleveland left him off the final injury report.

Browns Edge Myles Garrett had a walking boot on his left foot after hurting it in Sunday's loss to the Ravens. He told reporters afterward that he'll be ready for the next game after the Week 5 bye. We'll certainly be watching to confirm that's true.

The Browns are hiring longtime NFL coach Jim Schwartz to run their defense. Cleveland fired DC Joe Woods after a season in which they fell from 5th in yards allowed, 13th in scoring defense and 11th in Football Outsiders DVOA to 14th, 20th and 23rd, respectively. Schwartz last coordinated the Eagles' defense from 2016-20. Overall, he has spent 19 years as DC (Titans, Bills and Eagles) or HC (Lions) in the NFL. Schwartz's defenses have tended to rank better against the run than the pass and have not proved especially helpful to LB tackle totals. He has generally focused on generating pressure with his front 4, often lining up edge players in a "wide 9" formation, well outside the OTs. We'll see about his specific plans for a Cleveland defense with some intriguing talent.

Browns EDGE Myles Garrett missed time at the end of Sunday's loss to the Patriots after aggravating his left-shoulder sprain. "I've been dealing with it since the accident, just trying to manage it and be in the best position to play come Sunday," he said afterward, according to Cleveland.com. "And certain falls, tackles, stuff like that that’s going to aggravate it." Garrett will get further testing on the shoulder Monday, but he says, "I'll be playing next week."

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski deemed EDGE Myles Garrett "good to go" for Sunday's game against the Chargers, according to NFL.com. Garrett carries no injury designation into the game, despite remaining limited in practice this week with shoulder and biceps injuries from last week's car accident. Fellow EDGE Jadeveon Clowney (ankle) is questionable once again. He finished the week with a limited practice, the 1st time he has participated since Week 2. Clowney missed the past 2 games with the injury.

The Browns have downgraded EDGE Myles Garrett to out for Sunday's game against the Falcons, due to the injuries he suffered in Monday's car accident. It doesn't seem like he should miss further time, given that Garrett said he hoped to play in this game and the team initially listing him as questionable. With fellow EDGE starter Jadeveon Clowney questionable, Cleveland could be down to Alex Wright and Isaiah Thomas as the starters at those spots against Atlanta.

Browns EDGE starters Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney are questionable for Sunday's game against the Falcons. Clowney continued to miss practice all week with the ankle injury that kept him out of Week 3. Garrett, of course, is dealing with relatively minor injuries following his car crash Monday. We'll check on the status of both players Sunday morning.

Update: Garrett says he "would love to go" Sunday but will need clearance from doctors, according to ESPN's Jake Trotter.

Browns EDGE Myles Garrett was released from the hospital Monday night after his one-car accident. He suffered a shoulder sprain, biceps strain and lacerations, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, but cleared the league's concussion protocol, according to other reports. The team has yet to rule him out for Sunday's game against the Falcons.

Browns EDGE Myles Garrett went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a single-car rollover accident Monday afternoon, according to multiple reports. There's been no further report of Garrett's specific injuries. We'll have to see about the impact on his football availability.

Browns DE Myles Garrett does not appear on the team's final injury report for Week 3 and is good to go for Thursday night's game against the Steelers. Garrett sat out Tuesday's practice with a neck issue, but it doesn't seem to be a concern going forward. He's ready for IDP lineups.

Browns DE Myles Garrett missed Tuesday's practice with a neck injury, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. HC Kevin Stefanski said only "we'll see" when asked whether Garrett would be able to play Thursday night against the Steelers. Already without DE Jadeveon Clowney, the Browns defense would be in rough shape without its star pass rusher.

Browns DE Myles Garrett is active for today's game against the Packers. He figures to be affected by the groin injury that kept him from practicing this week, but it's tough to sit an active Garrett in IDP leagues.

Browns DE Myles Garrett is questionable for Saturday's game against the Packers after missing practice all week. "I feel like I'll play regardless of how I feel," Garrett said Thursday, according to Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot. "I haven't practiced, so we'll see. But I'm going to go out there and give my all." We'll see about Garrett's official status Saturday around 3 p.m. ET.

Four Browns defenders who were questionable for today's game against the Cardinals are active. DE Myles Garrett (knee, ankle), DE Jadeveon Clowney (elbow, knee), CB Denzel Ward (neck) and CB Greg Newsome (calf) are ready to go. DE Takk McKinley (ankle, knee) is also playing through a questionable tag.

Browns DE Myles Garrett (knee, ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. He was questionable last week for the same issues and played. Garrett finished the week with a limited Friday practice -- an improvement over last week, when he sat out Friday. DE Jadeveon Clowney (elbow, knee) is also questionable. He missed last week's game. CB Denzel Ward (neck) and CB Greg Newsome (calf) are questionable as well. LB Malcolm Smith has been ruled out. We'll update statuses for the questionable defenders come Sunday afternoon. Plan on using Garrett as usual in IDP lineups. You can probably find better options than the risk of waiting on the others.
